Banks seemed to have a tough game and for some reason the Bengals were able to consistently make big plays running straight up the middle. That was surprising to see

Enough is enough. We average like 15-17 points per game and Jones dunks everything off.

I also feel Daboll should have established the run in the beginning of the game.
Seriously the defender made a great play on the ball.   He was closely guarded by defender because the whole league knows that is the play they use in that situation. Ball was thrown good he was not wide open

Play call doesn't matter. Jones is going to his first read, which he's looking at as soon as the ball is snapped. Makes a defender's job easy.

You should get and watch the All-22; it's not lost on me that those of us who use this analysis tool have a vastly different perspective than those that derive conclusions from a one-dimensional tv broadcast.  Put simply, the QB is leaving a ton of plays on the field, which is why we're almost at the bottom of the NFL in scoring.

If we are talking about the 4th and 3 throw to Slayton with about 3 minutes to play, then it was a bad throw.  It went to Slayton's hip and neeed to lead him.  DB had good coverage, but a throw in front of Slayton toward the offensive left side gives it a chance for a catch.  The throw made the DB look great because it was in a perfect spot for him to make a play.

I don't think this is the point. Jones had Robinson wide open 5 yds farther down the field and would likely had gotten a 10-20 yd reception. Instead Jones locked on to his 5 yd Slayton slant (as usual) and tried to jamb the ball into really tight coverage. He just sucks

Quote from: Fletch on October 13, 2024, 11:14:56 PMWhatever. Daboll is hot garbage. how many sneaks on 2nd and short? Jones is like a human pinball and all this guy cares about is getting this team to like 7 wins so he will not get fired. It is really short sighted if Jones gets hurt. Also, he has had 3 offseasons to get a new QB

Jones is the Giant QB only because of Mara. The two year out is the compromise Schoen negotiated with Mara. Mara gave his blessing to draft a QB if a trade made sense this past draft. Schoen/Daboll should have an opportunity with their own QB like most new regimes do. Mara lives in a completely different world than we fans. His team's value in the past ten years more than tripled going from $2 Billion to just over $7 Billion. He runs a business that despite putting out a vastly inferior product is wildly $ucce$$ful. Nice gig isn't it. I've been a Giant fan since 1965. I compiled a regular season W-L since then and they are 50-55 games UNDER .500. An historically losing franchise by those numbers. Players, coaches, GM's, stadiums have come and gone since 1965. The one constant is the Mara family.

I have been saying that Jones is Mara's doing all along, and got called a conspiracy theorist. The compromise should have been competition for Jones; not a caddy who says on day one "he is back up and that is all he is".

Also you still don't have to coach like it is Madden on Xbox. How calling some out routes and letting Jones air it out. He throws a pick and bench him.  Put Locke in. He is really trying to win like that?

Jones will be here. 2 year out is BS.

Actually, he would thrive as a backup QB. It's pretty much what he has shown to be

Giant Obsession

Shoen and Daboll deserve their own QB ???

WHY ??

To me that is like your wife being a terrible cook since you married her 3 years ago.

Every week you buy her new groceries to prepare your meals.

And every week ..... well, you get the point.

I've thought this for some time. As a backup he'd have a 10+ year career like other less talented QB's. The problem with letting Jones air it out is there is not enough air under his throws  /sarcasm/ . Daboll is coaching to the limitations of his QB. He really has no other choice. Even Midas couldn't find a gold nugget in a cow pasture.
