Are handing down season tickets not a thing any more? Forgive my ignorance but, the only game I gave been to in years was a 2022 Falcons game.

ONe of my neighbors recently passed on, and I remember back in the day giving me and my Dad Giants tickets as he was a season holder and, could not make the game. That was 80s when the Giants were good. Glad he wasn't a Jet fan. Although I think I still remember the Jets played in the meadowlands even then. Thank g-d. Hate to be a Jets fan as I grew uop in Queens.

Because the PSL is transferable and tradable the rights to purchase season tickets can be passed on. I know the Patriots do not allow you to transfer season tickets to your kids so they have to stay in your name until you give them up or pass away. The Patriots never charged a PSL when building Gillette. I like this rule because it prevents season tickets from getting into the hands of road team fans on the secondary market. I have a friend who gave up season tickets and his kids had to submit their name to the waiting list.

I believe very strongly that Mara has a strong desire to win.  On the other hand, I don't think that desire over-rides his misplaced loyalty to family and friends he employs in his organization to the detriment of the team's success (not that I believe Mara sees it that way).

There-in lies my idea of an alternate approach. It too, wasn't perfect as the man had to resign his role due to his mistakes off the field. But no owner showed more tender love and care for his team than Eddie. He remains universally respected to this very day:

The man was classy enough to visit the Giants locker room, following the epic 1990 NFC Championship Game, to offer congratulations to Wellington and Bob, George and Bill, despite the fact that loss absolutely devasted him.

His business model was different than that of the Mara family and, being a younger owner, his connection to his players was closer to a big brother as opposed to Wellington being more of the father/grandfatherly figure in Giant world.

Today's NFL lacks the romance of Eddie and Wellington as pillars of the league. But both organizations remain in the top six, in terms of franchise value, and both carry small percentage of debt (NYG: 6%, SF: 3%). CORRECTION to my previous post. The Giants are currently valued at #4 (NOTE: I previously said #3 because the Rams, at #2, are laden with 44% debt at this time). The 49ers are currently #6.

No Patriots season ticket holder can transfer the rights to maintain ST to anyone else name. That is why I said he had to put his own kids on the waiting list in case he gave up his tickets which he eventually did.

I personally don't mind it at this point... Ownership must be made uncomfortable for their ineptitude in choosing the managers of the team. I would prefer them not showing up and leave the seats empty, to make a clear statement.
