Jones was benched l to protect his financial impact

He was asked if he would waive the injury clause in order To continue playing for the Giants? He completely ignored the question.

This was a business decision on both sides

As there is no Me in You, it can't be All. Whether or not it's Some, I can't imagine it being more than a Few.

Well you see Larry, this was a question posed to a topic Rich posted about other teams that have tanked. Rich felt it was off topic, so he split it and made it a separate thread. So instead of it addressing those who it would apply to, it looks like it's addressing the entire forum.

You see Larry, in order to start a topic about other teams tanking it implies that the Giants are tanking. Since Daniel Jones was the only move made, it really is relevant to the topic. But there were about a dozen other recent topics Rich and others started about Jones and this one was the straw that broke the forum's Back.

Yes, they are absolutely tanking the season.

Devito is starting so they can assure getting the #1 pick.

Daniel Jones is a better QB than Devito, but wasn't the long-term answer, so they benched him for the injury clause, and finally released him.

This is the right move, let's hope while playing hard the team loses the next six games.

The Giants released their toughest player (and team captain) then suffer the most embarrassing loss of the season and all the players point fingers at one another saying they were "soft"

for the 10th time.  The Giants are not tanking.  Tanking means you are trying to lose games.  They are doing a great job of losing while trying to win.  If you think they are tanking, well that started when Jones was the starter.  Are people really forgetting the first 10 games of the season?

I respectfully disagree and here is why.

Daniel Jones started 10 games for the Giants, they were in eight out of ten of those games.

There is no question Devito is a worse QB, and therefore while Daboll having his team play hard, starting Devito all but guarantees the #1 pick.

With Daniel starting they may potentially have won a few games and hurt thier draft position.

They can "potentially" win a few games with DeVito or Lock.  The game will start with a score of 0-0 and whoever accumulates more points by the end of the game will be declared the winner.  I actually expect them to win a game just because they catch another team even flatter than themselves.

Which team do you think they beat in the coming weeks?

If I had to guess, I would say the beat the Colts by accident.

If "tanking" means some sort of directive on the part of ownership or management that the team should no longer make an effort to win any of its remaining games, I'd say no. But, it does seem that the players individually or collectively may have decided, "to hell with pride why bother to risk injury?" when the season is already an over-and-done embarrassment.

As for the possibility that the Giants might then have the best chance to Draft whomever they feel is the best QB prospect, I don't see that as compelling given the always uncertainty involved and that of this year in particular. But then, if the Giants didn't have bad luck, they'd have no luck at all.

Why is there no question? DeVito was the clear better QB out of the two of them last season, which is the only multi-game comparative data set we have. If there is anything there is "no question" about, it is that.

Jones may be better. That would be a subjective opinion, and it may well be true. But he has not played better than DeVito overall since DeVito joined the team. Jones has been the worse QB out of the two of them since the start of 2023. That is simply not up for debate.

Can you supply a link that agrees with this statement? In your mind, he is better, on paper that may not be so.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.
