His name has been mentioned here quite a bit, as a huge possible replacement HC for the Giants.

Come on guys, if Mara and company don't already know what they are going to do for next year, by now, they will never know. Another 2 games isn't going to change anything. So, my point is, if they know they are going to make a change, why not bring Vrabel in now for a sit down and get an early jump on any other team that might want him (the Jets for instance), There is no tampering, and he is out there waiting.
For me, he is the ONLY guy I would want now. I don't want another top coordinator, the 'hot' guy at the moment. I want an established HC who can hit the ground running. Mike Vrabel.
I understand why Mara and company might want to wait until the end of the season to fire anyone, but when you have a legitimate prospect just sitting there, waiting for his phone to ring, and you know a change is going to be made, well I'd be on the phone right now and have him over for Christmas dinner about now.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Vrabel is under contract with another team so I don't think they can talk to him right now.  But also, Vrabel and Ben Johnson will be the top 2 candidates available.  They'll have their pick of the litter.  What would give them reason to pick the Giants when they dump their coach and/or GM every 2 years or so?

What teams are the rest of the litter?

Some HC candidates might see having the #1 overall pick, an all-pro LT and an all-pro DT as a good starting point.

Are the Jets more attractive?

People keep saying this but what is your list outside of Vrabel of quality coaches on their second stint that can turn around a woeful franchise? Bill Belichick left for college, meaning all veteran coaches would be retreads of guys other teams and fan bases do not want or very old retired HOF coaches. Also as much as you may want someone like Vrabel, other teams would want him as well so it's not like we are entitled to him unless Mara pays him a ridiculous amount. The way it is going, will we really get some great quality veteran leader next season? Or do we have to settle for a new first time guy again?

Good starting point ????  Respectfully to me, that is like going to a salvage yard and finding the steering wheel and a headlight from a '64 Mustang and thinking there is gold in them thar hills.

The Jets roster has it all over the Giants.  Not even close.  Both teams do share the fact they are clown shows in management.  Good candidates will avoid us completely and the Jets will have to throw a lot of money at whoever they desire.

Right now the status of this team makes the "Wilderness Years" look like nirvana.

We are redefining the answer to how low can you get.
Stay tuned.

So you feel that the jobs with the Jets, the Saints or the Bears are decidedly better options than the Giants?

Those are the open HC positions currently, which one is better to walk into than the Giants?

The Jets have an owner that didn't want a player signed because of his Madden score and a QB GM

The Bears go through coaches at the same rate as the Giants.

Saints have a GM who has kept the team in cap hell for about half a decade.  They are 63 million over the projected cap for 2025 tied to a mediocre QB and a bunch of past their prime vets.

Yes the Giants are awful, but the HC job, should it become  available is as attractive as any of the current vacant jobs.
