Ideas for how the NFL can fix the playoff seeding process?

There sure seems to be a lot of missed opportunities for drama in the final week of the season these days.  The NFL tries hard to set up impactful matchups in the last week of the season (a week they worked very hard to add, I might say)- only to see the best teams in the league essentially shut it down and put a mediocre product on the field.  This leads to much less drama, many bad games, etc.  To boot, this year the process has eliminated the chance for Saquon to break a 40-year-old record on national TV against his former team- a game I'm sure the NFL would have LOVED to showcase.

The cause of this mess seems to be how the playoff seedings are determined- ie, they are locked in far too often prior to the last week of the year.  This also has a negative impact on the overall spirit of draft seeding- as we all know too well- where the worst teams should be drafting highest and, in our case because we're playing against backups, we may fall down to 8 or 9 (and it would be super hard to argue we're not in the top 3 actual worst teams in the league).

So my general question to the group - any ideas of how the NFL could fix the seeding problem so they're not locked in until after the final week of the season?
