I picked hiring a president of football operations and keeping Schoen and Daboll. It might be an unpopular opinion,  but I truly wonder how much our problems are Mara in hiring and meddling. I feel like Schoen knows what he wants to do,  and it seems the players like Daboll.  The only thread to the past 12 years of crap is Mara.

I would have been okay with this for the opposite reason.  I don't think Schoen knows what he wants to do.  He needs a competent president to focus him.  Ask Joe questions like-  "what type of team do you want to build? (fast, big, etc;  smart, tough, and dependable are not talent traits).   They need to focus Schoen and Daboll on what type of defense they want to run.  The answer can't be "the type the DC we hire wants to run".  They need a vision for how to build a successful team.  They need to know what that team looks like or they will be unable to create it.

Whatever choice I make, I'm going to be prepared to support my decision.

If I retain them, I'm sure as hell not going public that they're on the hot seat.

If I believed so little in them, I fire them.
