I get that the line was a little better this year but it was not the Eagles' line. Or close.

Barkley as an Eagle is simply a different player than what he would have been for us and was in the more recent years.

Jeff,

I think the problem with that comparison is how the opposing defenses looked at the Giants offense.  I don't think they did anything special to account for Tracy, but I know they did that for Barkley.  Barkley with Nabers...that starts to create some issues, but without being able to do much in the passing game, I am not sure defenses would have game planned much for Nabers.

Watching Eagles games this year you saw teams focus on Barkley at points and the Eagles would just start throwing to Brown and Smith and then bigger holes would open in the run game.  It was pretty consistent that they would run for 3-4 yards in the 1st half and then you would see those big gains in the 2nd half.

Regardless, I definitely don't think Barkley would have had the kind of season he did in Philly if he were still in NY.  Philly brought him to help a non-elite QB and it worked perfectly to the point where he is in the conversation for MVP.  If he was in NY, he may have just had a similar year to Tracy.

uconn: Well said. I'll summarize your post in four short words... it's a team sport. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Regarding McKinney. The ATV accident was overblown. He did everything he could to get back ASAP and the D improved when he did return leading to a playoff run.

So he opened his mouth during his walk year. He wasn't the first player to do this and won't be the last. If that is the reason why Schoen showen him the door then that is how you end up with a roster of less talented losers.

Bottom line. We let 2 Pro Bowl Safeties leave 2 years in a row and many of you were OK with it.
