This bothers me because we had the opportunity to get a small sample size .....

If he looked good for 2-3 games at guard that possibly saves us money in the offseason

Season was lost back in early November ..... no excuse to not give him a Shot at Guard

Mehki Becton , a flop with the Jets is a starting guard on the Philadelphia Eagles . That's right The Philadelphia Eagles who some consider to have the best OL in the league . Ask Sequon Barkly what he thinks of Becton .

Becton had weight issues and major injury issues on the Jets, but he was never the truly terrible player that Neal has been. For that reason, I think this comparison is a questionable one.

Since we owe Neal money no matter what this year, I am perfectly fine with the idea of trying him at guard, as there is nothing to lose at this point. If they indeed do that, I am not expecting a Becton type outcome myself, though.

Dave, Ask die hard Jets fans what they thought of Becton. My point wasa , and I think you agree, is what was there to lose by trying Neal at the guard position? They could have done it in the pre season, ( I don't remember if he was hurt).

This is just my opinion which is probably worth nothing, but it seems that it was Schoen's hubris and Daboll's stubborness not to try him at guard because then it would have looked like they both made a mistake in drafting him so high .

the Eagles have one of the best medical staffs in the league. It's part of the reason they have been so successful.  They have gambled on many injury-prone players and prospects and those gambles have paid off more often than not (even Barkley).

For Daboll to not "try" him at Guard is one of the reasons I have little faith in his big picture awareness
