Uncle Mickey

Hi folks it's Uncle Mick again..... looking to throw some coals on the fire for draft season.

Been doing my due diligence and have come to the conclusion that Mr. Travis Hunter is most definitely not just a blue chip but a high end generational talent. And Uncle Mick doesn't throw that term around lightly. Travis' ball skills and tracking ability of the ball in flight is some of the best I have EVER seen. These thoughts are shared by quite a few storied evaluators too: McShay, Simms Kiper etc.

This isn't hyperbole. He is that good. And I personally think his upside at WR specifically is higher than Nabers. This is not a slight on Nabers in the least. With Hunter I see a smarter, more game savvy OBJ with a touch less gamebreaker speed and equal hands (with less concentration drops).

When you have a blue chip of this caliber you don't pass this up even as a QB needy team unless the prospect is franchise grade . It's just too much value to give up.

We got 14 folks at the pro day today and after hearing Hunter wasn't going to do certain drills apparently he's been requested (by some team- wonder who) to do WR drills.

Interesting indeed.

When you want an explosive offense you either need the elite QB who raises everyone's play or short of that you need multiple elite players on offense to compensate.

With Wilson if you give him Hunter and NAbers on the boundary it will play into his strengths. Moon ball left, moonball right and back shoulder throws and PA. Lethal combination.

I agree, I would much prefer Hunter to Sanders (although that 80 pass had me wondering)

I'm thinking a lot of what you wrote below Mr.Mighty is incredibly astute.

You can not take Sanders at 3. THis isn't last years draft class. Sanders at best is QB4 last year and does not have that 'elite draft him at all costs type of grade'..

I do STILL like him because I am big on the intangible aspects of the position but he isn't near slam dunk either. A lot of this father son combos have an intersting dynamic...often the Son isnt super freak athletic  or has the freak measurables but they have tremendous accuracy and feel for the game and that makes up for it.

Mannings in Football, Curry and Brunson in basketball.

However should he slide into mid- late teens.

I would consider:

34,65, and next year's #2 to move into the that area and snag him.

If we pulled off BOTH Hunter #3 and Sanders 16-20 range, I would be flat out ecstatic.
