It'll definitely help us if he can provide the sounding board for Mara to give all of his "thoughts" to while allowing the actual GM to make his own decisions and run the franchise the way it needs to be run.

Different skillset.  I trust a PE firm to achieve success more so than a player.  PE dont throw stupid money out and they fire bad decisions quickly.

The actual sale wasn't finalized until December 2024, but Lurie could have been anticipating the funds, so he was willing to carry more cash over cap than he normally would.

I think it matters quite a bit. This is different from Brady and his slice of the Raiders. He has no obvious inherent influence there.

Eli is an iconic Giant. Even though he would be a minority interest (by a huge margin), his voice carries weight in that building.

I'm not suggesting he will be an authority figure or will be able to change Mara's mind about something that his mind is made up on. But I think he is a guy who when he airs his opinions, they'll carry some weight.
