Name the one Giant player whom the Giants signed or drafted, who you thought would do poorly but proved to be a pleasant surprise.

For me, it was JPP.  I was out to dinner when I heard the Giants had drafted him.  I was like, "You got to be kidding me, the Giants drafted the backflip guy?"  Admittedly, after the Giants drafted him and I really started to look at him, I was less concerned but I didn't expect him to have the career he did.

Victor Cruz.  It wasn't that I thought he would do poorly so much as I knew nothing about him and then he exploded out of the blue.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Lawrence Taylor. In fairness I was ten. Plus, Giants were awful back then, but linebacker was already an area of great strength. Plus, a lot of people at the time were saying Hugh Green was a better linebacker.
