"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."
~ Coach Tom Coughlin

Ed: Daniels is still my best bet. I seem to remember Nix was your favorite (or one of them)?  Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

I think it's a bit early to be able to evaluate any of them.  I think the end of training camp and PS games are the first true points, followed by points throughout the season and the end of the season.  Of course, ultimately, it will take years as promising rookies like Mac Jones flame out and other QBs who struggle early eventually come into their own.

I'm glad we are playing Vikes and Commanders early.

Hopefully that D line will have too much for for McCarthy and Daniels or Darnold and Daniels.

If the O can be average/even slightly below average that D line could torment those QBs and the Giants swoon to an 2-0 start.

Sadly, I could see fans of the teams with rookie QBs saying-  I am glad we are playing the Giants early...

Hopefully, this year the Giants change that view

The only thing they would potentially have in their favor is getting used to Bowen's system. We have dogs up front that  can get pressure. That's not an ideal situation for a rookie QB.

I like NYG's front 7, but the secondary...

A strong pass rush covers (pun intended  8))  ) a weak secondary.

I have found they sort of have a synergy.  If you don't have good coverage, then that pass rush struggles, and if you don't have a good rush, the coverage struggles.  I believe it's a bit of a balancing act.

I'm not sure about the LB's, especially after the first three....we do have talent in the secondary, albeit young and unproven.  The front three's pass rush can make the secondary look so much better as they gain experience.

Philosophers

As a 2x Michigan alum and multi-generational alum, I have been keeping tabs on JJ McCarthy via Viking news sites.  One thing I saw which I thought was really indicative of his leadership skills was in an OTA, he was in as QB.  He challenged the entire Vikings defense he was playing against that if he completed 3 passes in this drill, they'd have to do gassers and if he did not, he'd have to do them.  The defense was hooting and hollering and agreed.  He lost and had to do them, however, Vikings players really erupted about how he demonstrated competitiveness and fire.
