He would have been an excellent replacement for McKinney even if for only this year . I don't know if we had the money for him  or more importantly, did he want to become a NY Giant.

The Giants don't have the $8 million (they currently have a bit over $10 million, but that will decrease when teams go from the top 51 to the full 53 plus practice squad plus injured reserve)

Signing a 30 year old safety hampers the development of young promising prospects like Belton, Nubin and Ownens


If the Giants want to spend some of their current surplus, I would rather see the team sign veteran boundary CB.  Most of the other positions I see the team is covered or they might boost the position with final cuts waiver claims
