Having a QB that actually will throw the ball makes a big difference

Purdy could have read a book in the backfield. His occasional inaccuracies are when he does get pressure. We saw Sam Darnold look like Joe Montana under the same conditions. Pass blocking is the single most important element in a QBs success.

An undrafted rookie in Mason had large running lanes. Throw in a bevy of skilled WRs and you have a great offensive team. The 49ers have a great offensive line.

The only OL with a good PFF score was Thomas. The rest were average to below average.

Only one was below average. They provided enough protection for Jones to play well but he ran himself into three sacks. That's not the fault of the line.

I agree that they played fine. I do expect them to get better as they get comfortable with each other.

You make it sound like any RB will be successful with a good OL.  Holes are open for a split second.  Where is the cut after for additional yards?  Strength of RB to break tackles.  When to slow down then run hard. Give more credit to RBs than that.

I couldn't care less about a meaningless PFF stat. I saw with my eyes the QB had plenty time and the recievers were open. If the QB makes plays those scores get better or become moot.

For how great the 49ers are they still.cant draft a QB
Purdy is so good but in the superbowl he blinked just like Jimmy G and how about trading up 3 first round picks for trey lance
Just think if we did that
Yes they are very good
But I think its easier for players to play better when there is talent all.around them
Look.at C Clark in the wnba
Now that team looks.awesome but for 8 years that team were bottom.feeders
What happens when this team gets older
Can they still.draft as well ?
Remember when everyone said the steelers always draft great at WR.   Well once big ben retired then drafted who again
Claypool
D.johnson who had only one good year
G Pickens who flashes good games but sometimes he disappears
Compare that to when they had big ben and they can hide the faults with amazing players
Once those players are gone it's had to keep doing it
The teams that can keep.replacing their whole team is very little but the ravens you can see
Maybe green bay it seems like
