Cardinals released LT D.J. Humphries.
The Cardinals' 2015 first-rounder, Humphries had been the team's primary left tackle for most of the past 7-8 years. That doesn't say nine seasons because Humphries, of course, was infamously a healthy scratch his entire rookie campaign. The 30-year-old struggled with injuries for several years before finally getting fully comfortable on the blindside. That changed last New Year's Eve when he tore his ACL. That made cutting him loose and recouping his $9.043 million in salary cap savings all too easy of a decision for Arizona. This can be a brutal game sometimes. Now Humphries is going to have trouble landing any guaranteed money for 2024, and may not find a new home until later in the summer.

This could mean they don't want Elumenor or Neal at LT.  Could mean they plan to play Elumenor and Neal and want a better option than Ezedu for the swing.  Or, it could mean nothing.

To me, it looks like a bad team scrambling to salvage what appears to be yet another lost season. If healthy, Humprhies probably would be the best LT the team could field post-AT injury.  It would take a few weeks for Humphries to play himself into shape, but he could be their starting LT, and JE could return to his preferred RT position.

OR

They just could be kicking the tires at a position of great need.

He's had some years with pretty decent pff scores and was cut due to a combination of the ACL injury and CAP savings.  I think it will depend on what the medical staff have to say when they evaluate his ACL recovery - and relying on the Giants' medical staff is a dicey proposition at best.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.
