When I worked in a corporate environment with the Owner who was very involved, we had an hour roundtable meeting every Monday afternoon. Anything that came up during the week that was of any significance, I took in a partner if it pertained to their area, such as Human Resources, Operations, Merchandising VP's or Directors. I was also able to pick up the phone and call the Chairman or walk into his office if the door was open. Never for the minutiae. I'm sure there is a lot of crap that just stays within the coaching staff. However, open lines of communication to me seems like a well run organization, if it's not autocratic. 

So, Ed, I think you've summed up very well how a company of medium or large size might operate in organizational departments. But, as we all know, the Football Giants are a "Family-Run Business" and, as it is today, the head coach may info-copy the owner(s) either as a formality or as part of daily communication protocol in the family business.

I still believe Schoen and Daboll are running this thing but they are making it clear that Jones is not the answer for their future plans and they want their own QB to develop. With the start of the calendar year kicking off on the wrong foot with the Hard Knocks disaster (NOTE: which I did not watch nor will I ever), and now the season burning up in the dumpster fire it rapidly is becoming.

Successful teams have a Mission Statement, Long-Range Business Plan (LRBP), Strategy, Culture and the right leaders and people to make it happen in a continuous learning and improvement environment.

For obvious reasons, the Football Giants have been unable to get out of their own way and acknowledge their weaknesses, develop plans to improve, assess their LRBP, Strategy, Culture, Business Goals and Objectives. I believe the GM and Head Coach are trying hard to build a desirable culture where everyone looks out for each other and plays their tails off.  I also see a bunch of players getting frustrated because the results are not coming to fruition.

We've discussed, ad nauseum, the Operations, Medical and Executive staff and have deposited their "faults" at the door to where they stack up a mile high, ten miles out! Yet, they have a Business organization that has successfully positioned the Football Giants organization as the fourth most valuable in the National Football League. It almost begs the question, "What's wrong with this picture?"

When performance of Executive, Operations and Medical is incongruent with Business, in terms of the bottom line, in spite of the fact that season ticket waiting lists are things of the past, is mind-boggling to the common fan. It challenges not only our common sense, but our very reason for being loyal.

Sadly, the answer is far more complex than drafting a QB in 2025. For those who continue to charge John Mara and Steve Tisch for their lack of accountability, and especially those who continue to fill their coffers by purchasing tickets, attending games and paying for food, drinks and NFL Properties goods, they have every right to do so!

Our season ticket-holding forefathers at Giants Stadium, in the early years after the Stadium opened, had the right idea at the time. They let Wellington Mara know, explicitly, how disgusted they were and that they weren't going to stand for it anymore. Be it angry letters to the owner, formation of groups of angry Giants fans to come together and solicit ideas (e.g. ticket burning ceremony in the urinals, plane flying over the stadium with the banner "15 Years of Lousy Football ... We've Had Enough!!!), they got their message across. It all coincided with turning the entire football organization upside down and ushering in a new era. I wrote about this personal experience when I was nine years old many years ago and  included an article about the group who funded the infamous plane. If you've never read it, have at it and think about this season and decide if fans need to deliver the same message to John and Steve.
