Your post included Jones vs Devito in your metric so I think you can understand the pushback. You stated he was "rehashing" but then in the same breath you have Jones in the comparison. Also, I think I remember last year when Jones was getting pushback here (after Devito played better than him with the same offense), you pointed to Devito having the luxury of the All-Pro Andrew Thomas (whereas Jones did not). Point is, people wanted to use Jones/Tyrod/Devito metric as a means to see if Jones is a franchise guy and you have all sorts of reasons why we shouldn't do that. But now it's ok to hold Devito after a game to the same standard - and he is missing not one but TWO Tackles. If I am wrong in my assessment then I offer my apology. But honestly, this is how I am reading this whole thing.

The man whose comments you are defending literally apologized.  So what is your point?  It's feeling like you guys are obsessed with a guy who isn't even on the team anymore.

My post has nothing to do with anyone at all except to point out Tommy Devito deserves the same courtesy you extended to Daniel Jones last year as it relates to comparisons with each other. We can't say it was a flawed comparison with Tyrod/ Devito because Jones didn't have Thomas but they did - and then turn around and try to make a side by side comparison this year with Devito (yet he doesn't have Thomas AND Eleumenor). Let's give the same courtesy and perspective is all. As for being obsessed, I wasn't the one who made the initial comparison.

Objectively, the numbers DeVito put up were poor on their own.  Comparing his numbers to DJ, only offered DeVito a chance to look better (if he was close to what DJ put up).  I think lost in all of this is I don't know how any study will do before hand and I don't censor the study based on the results.

Can we once and for all stop with the DeVito dreaming. He has had his fifteen minutes. There was a reason he wasn't drafted. Nice story last year when he helped the team ruin their draft status with victories mostly supported by the defense and turnovers. It's now just a fantasy and that he is starting over Lock is the real story. What does that tell you about either Schoen and Daboll or Mara. It's very very sad.

Tells me that they understand the assignment.  And are putting the long term fortunes of the team ahead of any short term gains.
