No doubt Jones was a big problem. Maybe the biggest. But as head coach the other units have to function properly. They are your responsibility as well. They just have not and whether that's because he doesn't hire capable assistants or not, it's on him. Put the Chinese take out menu down and coach the team. Or go be an OC somewhere.

The QB is the most important player on the team, but I've seen many other coaches do more with even less than what Daboll has had. Mara didn't tell him to show up to games without a kicker and call ridiculous plays at the worst moments or have the team commit 15 penalties in week 11. And Mara didn't instruct them to release Love, McKinney, and Williams. Or sign Lock as the Plan B. That playoff win feels like a long time ago. It was followed by a 38-7 humiliation and then a 40-0 humiliation. And we've pretty much been there since then.

I agree with both of you ( @katkavage and @BlueMoshik ). Daboll's hands are dirty as well. He's certainly not getting a free pass from me.

I simply think he deserves a shot at getting his own guy at QB. It's one of the main reasons he was hired. If it was up to  me, he'd get at least a year with his own guy at QB. That would be his full evaluation year. His future would be based solely on that year.

For sure Daboll is no Bill Belicheck. People here are saying about BB and what has he done without Brady? For sure, name me one HC who can win regularly with a junior college QB, as Daboll has been saddled with. Please, just one.
What is it, all of a sudden BB doesn't know how to coach anymore. Sure Brady was Brady but who made Brady Brady?

Daboll deserves a year with a QB that HE feels is legit enough to win with, one HE can use HIS game plans with, not some beaten-down game plan for a QB who couldn't t throw the ball to open receivers down the field.
You have to give the guy a chance to operate his own system, not a watered-down version because of an incompetent QB.
