Do people honestly believe Hard Knocks tells the whole story?

You don't think more important or teams ensitive discussions were kept under wraps?

If Mara called me and asked me if he should fire Schoen/Daboll I would say no.  However that is not going to happen.  If he does fire them, I will disagree with it, but can understand it happening.  Saying I dont trust him to hire the right guy next is not to somehow elevate Schoen.  I just cant get excited about anyone Mara is choosing.

I think it was Mighty who wanted a FULL house cleaning a few weeks ago.  Firing everyone down to the ticket department (may be exaggerating on that).  But, it makes sense. There are too many people in that building with lifetime contracts.  Yes, I get a guy like Chris Mara is not going to be completely shunned.  But all the people who are part of the "family" both literally and figuratively, need to be removed from football side of things.  Yes, John Mara is the CEO (or whatever his exact title is).  But neither he nor any of his relatives should have any input into players/coaches/gm.  Even if it means the training staff too.  I have said many times I think some of you put too much blame on Ronnie Barnes, but he is definitely someone who is an untouchable and yes, that has to change.

Not only did Schoen/Daboll inherit Gettleman's mess overall, but they were also sandbagged by-John Mara's next Eli- Daniel Jones's freak season in 2021 along with a whole lot of BBH.

Having finally rid themselves of that millstone and having gotten the salary cap in good (Plus $50 Million) shape for next season and even better in 2026, all some folks here can think of doing is to cut their legs off. So, who is to succeed them? Hopefully, not a late-stage Jerry Reese, or another Gettleman, a McAdoo, a Joe Judge. And if you're thinking about another Tom Coughlin, you'd need a memory check given the "goddam martinet" bashing around here which greeted that choice. Get the point? Not likely.

Perhaps, then we should hope that the Commissioner steps in and gives us a "George Young" instead as we otherwise have no clue beyond rash instinct.

Cheers!

The current Dinosaur Du Jour is Belichick, which I'm sure you've seen.

It's amazing how things get framed to push a certain viewpoint.

To think what could have happened had "The Fumble" never occurred. This whole discussion would take on a "Back To The Future," space-time continuum-like twist that not even a Greek Tragedy could touch, drama-wise! We'd have no George Young rock to cling to when the storm breaks and threatens our egos be driven out to sea! Not even a fable of such story could save us from impending doom!

But, if John McVay could help Eddie DeBartolo Jr. become the en-vogue owner of the 1980s, who knows what could have happened had he taken over for Robustelli, as was the original plan for 1979, and quite possibly hire a head coach by the name of William Earnest Walsh (NOTE: known as "Bill Walsh), who wanted this quarterback from Morehead State, KY named Simms to run his offensive system he created in Cincinnati under Paul Brown, and grow it to the "nth" degree when he became head coach.

Could it have happened, or could that have been a hallucination caused by massive intake of sea water from aforementioned storm? Or the space-time continuum twisted into a paradox?

Right now, the Football Giants ARE a paradox; THIS much we know, and it doesn't require an advanced degree to reach this conclusion.

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

He might be going to coach UNC.

Do people honestly think you can dismiss what we saw on Hard Knocks because it wasn't the whole story?

There are way intelligent leaders discuss team building, and then there are the discussions we saw from Schoen and Daboll

Is it not insinuated when people bash the guys, call for their jobs, and make other strong judgments based off of the surface level stuff HBO allows us to see?

The problem is that we got to see how they operate and hear how they operate.  No doubt there is more to the picture, but what we saw was damning.  It's not just my opinion that how they operated was not in keeping with good management/leadership/NFL team building; people who have worked in NFL front offices were saying the same things.   There wasn't a single exchange that they broadcast where one could say-  "See!  They are smart men who know what they are doing.  They clearly have a good plan."
