Mara buys into the following arguments:

Injuries hurt the team
Schoen and Daboll deserve to draft their own QB
Mara can't find better people
The team needs continuity

So Mara stands pat with the organization as is.   The Giants draft a QB.  Despite drafting their QB, the team has a season like the 3-10 Pats are having.  Mara finally cleans house at the end of next year's miserable season.

The new regime gets a 3-year pass because they inherited rather than drafted "their QB."

Rinse repeat

I'm convinced that Daboll and Schoen are running a scam. I see total disarray on the Giants. You have a GM who can't keep talent loses top players like McKinney Love, Bradbury and Barkley.  They lost Jones like it or not he was still one of the better players.
You have a coach that ostracizes and points fingers. The best part of last year was Wink and his defense not Daboll and his offense. If these two guys comeback this franchise done for a while. I'm thinking what's going to happen to the new QB being exposed to Daboll. Daboll has worked with 4 QBs and they all look lost. If the coaches number one priority is turnovers then damn right QBs are going to their check downs most of the time.
Having Schoen and Daboll comeback is disastrous I wouldn't let them be around the new QB. This team needs new direction with a coach that has long history of winning. They can't treat the coaching position as an entry level position which they have been doing on a number of occasions.

I don't understand why this isn't obvious to everyone.  We literally just saw this happen with Shurmur coaching Jones for one year before being fired. This is how John Mara operates.

We need to stop playing make believe. We have to be prepared for a rookie QB who will either bust or at the very least will struggle as a rookie. This is very common in the NFL and we shouldn't pretend it isn't more likely than not.

The odds of Daboll surviving to 2026 with a rookie QB are not good. It's a bad bet. Why is this point even controversial. I've heard people talk about being boggled and unable to even consider this as a possibility much less a probability.

With an oline comparable to the one that started the season and a new qb I'd probably take that bet.

It's a bet that doesn't actually pay anything out. You can't win anything, you can only lose. Unless you've somehow convinced yourself that Daboll is a superior coach to whoever else might be hired. The reality is Daboll is a standard issue coordinator, like most head coaches. He's interchangeable and doesn't bring anything unique to the table.

Why do you believe the line will turn out differently next year?

Not the same line, just the quality we had at the beginning of the season.

With a really good draft after the QB and the correct vet QB, the team can shown improvement next year.

Thats what Daboll will need to get to 2026.  I am not saying winning 4 games, but 7 would likely get him another year depending on what it actually looks like on the field.

Not saying it's likely,  just that it's more than a remote possibility

I feel like if they only improve to 6-7 games, they would need to show serious flashes, along with being close/competitive in most losses for him to stay. I'm hoping for a bit closer to 500

No more being pushovers, they sre tanking but no more after this. Losing like this cannot continue after this year
