Giants LG Jon Runyan was leaning on the weight-bearing scooter in front of his locker while talking to reporters. That's when someone nearly backed into another scooter in front of Andrew Thomas' locker.

That's when Runyan delivered perhaps the most spot-on line of the day so far: "We have too many [walking] boots. We have too many scooters. We have too many crutches in this locker room."

I don't think I'm the only one that thinks getting rid of Ronnie Barnes would be a step in the right direction
"I'll probably buy a helmet too because my in-laws are already buying batteries."

The Giants are among the most injured teams every year.  Every damn year.  I don't know if it's drafting brittle guys,  our training process,  the field,  or what,  but this has to be rectified.  We talk about it every year,  and this is another thing that doesn't change.

SI#3: Improve the "Lost Man-Games Due to Injury" Metric

End of Year Rating: RED

2025 NYG Strategic Initiative #1: Year-over-year improvement on "Lost Man-Games Due to Injury" Metric for Projected Starters and Immediate Backups.

ACTION: Root Cause Analysis of New York Football Giants Injury Trend from 2022 to Present; Generate Findings and Mitigation Plan (with Milestones and Dates); Identify Resources (On Hand and Needed) and Help Needed

SUSPENSE DATE: Initial Report - 01/31/2025; Monthly Update thereafter

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Track and Report Out

Metric 1 - Lost Training "Player-Hours" vs. "Total Available" for all players, due to injury, during off-season (voluntary AND mandatory) Report Out Feb-Jul 2025

Metric 2 - Lost Training and Game "Player-Hours" vs. "Total Available" for all players, due to injury, during Training Camp and Pre-season Report Out Jul-Sep 2025

Metric 3 - Lost "Player-Hours" vs. "Total Available" for all players, due to injury, during Regular Season (and Playoffs, if applicable) Report Out Sep 2025 - Jan/Feb 2026

Metric 4 - Medical Costs (Budget vs. Actual) Monthly Report Out Jan 2025 - Jan/Feb 2026

NOTE: This is just a sample but, if I were John Mara and Steve Tisch, I would expect Ronnie Barnes to present to me, at a bare minimum, something along the lines of his Strategy, his Imperatives on executing his Strategy, and what specifically is he targeting in his organization, why and what is he doing to generate a "desirable" future state, from the current state, that will advance the organization into achieving its Annual and Long Range Business Plan (LRBP).

NOT THE FOLLOWING (NOTE: although it wouldn't hurt):

"Facilities shall modify the footprint of the locker room to make it ADA Compliant."

"Facilities shall create space opportunities for "injured Giants" to partake in "Scooter Demolition Derby," "Walking Boot Soccer" and other applicable ADA "Fun Variety" games!

 <:-P = John Mara ???

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

The Giants seem to lead (or almost lead) NFL each yr in injuries (as k-man says above, lost man-hrs, etc.).

Is this just my imagination? It's easy to focus so much on your own team that it always SEEMS that way.

But in the case of the Giants, I suspect it's true, or at least very close to being true.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

You know @Bob In PA , a few of us came close to purchasing a subscription to the organization which captures the statistics for NFL - Athlete Game Lost. The "fan" subscription for $99 only provided a bare minimum amount of data while the "PRO NFL" subscription, for $549, provided a far more desirable package. I was going to get it this season, as last year I believe it was only $349 (I believe), but even recruiting a couple of others here, it was still a bit pricy, so I ultimately passed.

But this is really what we would need to tell the story and, if you dig into the website, NFL teams actually subscribe to this site (NOTE: the Giants do not ... surprised?).

So, add another action item to Ronnie Barnes' list. Get a subscription to NFL - Athlete Game List for their analytics team. That is, unless they believe they are capturing and managing this data internally, which is quite possible.

Still, it would be a gold mine to analyze this data and compare the Giants' information to the rest of the NFL and perform additional analyses.

Peace!
