Agree Matt.  Giants are not yet built for a $100 million signing at a key position (non-QB) over multiple years but are fine to build talent at lower cost positions like guard and LB.

That's not at all what was being discussed.  I think they will definitely have to spend some money on lower to mid FAs.  Every team does to solidify a roster.  Thats how you plug holes so you don't have to draft one position or another.

The Giants are one of the richest teams in the sport in the biggest market and should spend to the cap but within reason and not with mortgaging future cap space. We need better players and only 9 will come from the draft.
