Be warned, the article stops at a point and wants you to subscribe to a 7 day free membership.  I didn't feel like I was left in the dark by stopping where it did, it was already a long and interesting article.  It included a reference to the Giants:

QuoteSanders may seem like another example of a player invited as an "interview-only" player but Charles McDonald at Yahoo! Sports reported that Sanders genuinely planned on practicing at the Shrine Bowl until the day before practices began. It was then, according to McDonald, that the Titans, Browns and Giants asked Sanders to opt out of practices.

The Browns have denied this. Wide Left has learned from a source not directly affiliated with any of these three teams that at least one of the teams suggested, either explicitly or implicitly, to the Sanders team that it would be wise to opt out of practicing.

This informed his late decision to withdraw from practicing, according to the source.

Well, I guess the over analyzing of how this will view his standing with teams was all for naught?

Him doing it for one team to satisfy them may deter another team.

The Giants and Browns may have also done that, but I think the Titans had to do it in order for him to actually listen right?  If the Titans say nothing he has to believe they're leaning Ward thus if he's going to get the #1 spot he should practice.  If the Titans tell him not to, that means he's already in the running and doesn't want to piss them off by ignoring their wishes.

Assuming the rumor posted is true.  I personally have questions as I have never seen a team want LESS information on a prospect.  The risk of getting hurt in practice would have been on-par with getting hurt at the Combine, Pro Day, or private workout.  So, if one of the top 3 teams were considering drafting him or even thinks they may draft him, I am not sure why they would tell him not to participate even in practice.

Plus, I have heard a competing rumor that says Sanders never planned on participating, but he agreed to appear for interviews to help his teammates
