Turns out there was more than luck when it comes to the fumbles that helped the Eagles

QuoteOver the last 13 NFL seasons, Charles Tillman forced more fumbles than any defensive back in the league. In fact, Tillman's 44 forced fumbles (a ridiculous number) almost doubled that of the next guy in line over the same period -- Charles Woodson, with 23. So, how did he do it? Tillman is famous for the "Peanut Punch," which became a part of our game-day vocabulary during his career. With Tillman calling it a career earlier this week, let's break down the technique that is now on teaching tapes at every level of the game.

It's funny, I listen to a number of podcasts about the NFL. This time last year Siriani was on the hottest of hot seats, I doubt there was a regular board member here who'd have wanted him.

A year later he's widely revered for his 2nd SB appearance in 3 years.

What a difference a year makes.

I think there is a big difference between acknowledging a smart coaching move and revering a coach.

It was a more broader point about the flowers Sirani has been receiving of late. It wasn't directed at you in particular (hence the no quote or reference to your name).

However, I think this points to my point. Yes, well coached to do the initial move but neglects the great deal of luck that goes into recovering a fumble.

with so much focus on Barkley, I think people are neglecting just how well the Eagle's defense is playing.  The hiring of Vic Fangio made a big and positive difference.

When you have a smothering defense complementing a devastating offense which consists of an explosive running game, an outstanding offensive line, mobile quarterback, two excellent receivers and a bull for a tight end, having a secondary smart enough to pick your pocket puts the cherry on top to give your team turnovers and shift gears into full drive.

That's why they are representing the NFC in the Super Bowl this year.

Peace!

Eagles brought in a new OC and DC last offseason.  A lot of times having 2 new coordinators would cause a step back, but in this case it has worked perfectly.

Fangio was run out of Miami by his players last year. (https://atozsports.com/nfl/miami-dolphins-news/dolphins-players-take-jab-at-vic-fangio-after-team-part-ways/)

Kellen Moore was fired in Dallas ( I heard McCarthy didn't like how much he ran the ball) and then dismissed when Harbaugh was brought in as HC.

Eagles drafted two CBs that seemed to be perfect for Fangio's system and signed Barkley to help Hurts and give Moore a weapon in the run game.

After falling apart at the end of last year, they are sadly playing their best ball when it matters most this year.
