Mara's most definitely meddle and Florio on the Simms show really put it best on what owners (not just Mara) do with those face of the franchise guys picked in the 1st especially the QBs.

That last part from Florio is 100% what I'm referring to when it comes to Mara's meddling. He doesn't have to come out directly and say, "I want Jones at 6." "I really like that kid at Duke. He'd look amazing in Blue and would be a great successor to Eli" would have the same effect without being as direct.

Mara is simply guilty of cronyism and foresight in his hirings. He's not overt or tyrannical...he just makes poor sign off decisions with his team..and his refusal to can Daboll and Schoen out.. then put them at a disadvantage ..in desperation .

However, those two might have lucked out by stabilizing the QB situation enough where they can build the roster, have a chance to show development to save their jobs until next year with the franchise guy at QB. Maybe. But i'd rather have them in BPA mode than taking a swing at Sanders with its opportunity cost.
