Even though I have witnessed the Draft on T.V. for many years I am always amazed how the
NFL has turned a non athletic event into such a powerhouse. It has become a cottage industry unto itself. It's a brilliant business move and not only keeps them relevant in the offseason but generates millions of dollars. I watch the draft briefly and am not near as tuned in as many here. The level of detail on this board and via the pundits is very impressive. No other sport comes close. Hope we all enjoy the outcome but whatever happens the fans will be back next year with even more determination.

I think, more than any other American sport, football fans are the most rabid fans, and they clamor anything football-related at all times, all year. The NFL has used that to its advantage via the draft, the combine, even its preseason games.
Business is business, and they sure know how to make money
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

It's sort of funny, I enjoy the draft so much that I feel a let down (after I recover from the exhaustion of the 3 days bring).   Yes, we have shiny new toys, but all the other prospects are now on other teams.  That removes just a hint of the excitement

I enjoy watching day one of the draft, and then mostly just the Giants picks on day two. On day three I will occasionally just check online to see who the Giants select.

I do have a side question though. What's the best way to keep up,(streaming), with the draft if you don't have ESPN or NFL Network? I currently have YouTube TV, but I'm dropping them at the end of April. Obviously I'm covered this year, just looking ahead to next year.

One good thing they did with the draft was cut out the remotes before the picks with players on the board...keep some suspense..I went to the one in Chicago..and remember the Felt Forum days in NYC..met the Big Dawg from Cleveland and Browns fans..they were great to talk to...very friendly...Eagles and Raiders fans complete jerks..as you'd suspect.

You are sooo right. Only, when taking Vegas and the betting world, it's probably billions, not millions

I might be the only person on this board that watches (with excitement) the MLB and NBA drafts...even though the MLB draft isn't televised. I have to watch a board as names pop up. I remember screaming for the Yanks to take Aaron Judge, even though Judge wasn't considered first round material. They said he was "too big" and that his size would not be able to catch up with major league pitching. Boy were they wrong. In hindsight, he would have easily been the number one pick overall, instead of 32nd overall, where the Yanks snagged him up. I had the same anticipation and joy when they picked Spencer Jones with the 25th pick overall. Spencer is the same size as Judge, but had better numbers in college than Judge, but is left-handed (both throwing and batting). He will be making his major league debut soon. Just think, a left-handed Judge and that short porch on the right

The Knicks never draft who I want, but I've been thrilled with how Thibs has put this team together without hardly a single draft pick. I think the only player they picked in the draft that is still on the team is "Deuce" McBride...who in hindsight, was a steal in that draft
You can never actually lose a homing pigeon - if your homing pigeon does not return, what you've lost is a pigeon

Exactly Rich!
Every year except this one, I spent a lot of my time to check and evaluate the top 100 or so prospects and even some potential sleepers; it would build a lot of excitement and hope that some of my favorites will be picked by our Giants. Every year pretty much I feel a sense of emptiness, let down and disappointment as all those favorites get picked up by other teams; so I am left with the hope that my team must know better; so I'd better get to like the new Giants.

I also think so many players picked might play
In basketball there are only 2 rounds and how many play
In baseball they might not even get out of triple A

So you actually get to see potential 3 or 4 new players on your team
