Quote from: jgrangers2 on May 20, 2025, 11:22:55 AMThe issue with the run to the sticks argument is that the other team knows where the sticks are too. And if teams don't fear you going over the top of them, they have no reason to do anything on 3rd and 7 then defend the 7 yard pass so you have to run shorter routes in hopes of creating enough space to make a guy miss and get the first.

Yes but how has it worked so far throwing short 3 yarders?

With Wilson and his deep ball accuracy, send Hyatt and Nabers deeper to loosen up defenses.

The problem with Wilson and Robinson is that Robinson generally runs routes between the hashmarks.  Wilson for some reason throws predominantly outside the hashmarks.  Not sure why, maybe his height.

This thread reminds me on a post from last season.  When Nabers was out for a game, one of the comedians here - can't credit because I don't remember who - predicted that Robinson would catch something like 22 passes for 31 yards.

I think the yards/reception certainly is eye opening but the amount of 1st down catches is what is more alarming IMO.

Last year 93 receptions that resulted in 36 1st downs.  For comparison, an elite slot guy like Welker averaged 57% of receptions were 1st downs for his career.
