Mbow's play deserved better than the mid-5th-round.  Reports I heard suggest position is the issue with him.  He has 32-inch arms, which is an inch above the desired 33 inches and above for tackles.  As a tackle, one of Mbow's weaknesses is that he isn't very strong, even by tackle standards (Guards tend to be stronger than tackles).  So moving him to guard, where the shorter arms wouldn't be an issue, is problematic as he doesn't have (yet) the strength to hold up to those big, strong defensive interior guys.

Center, it is speculated, to be his best position.  Centers don't have to be as strong as guards, and the arm length isn't an issue at center

How is strength not that important at center where the biggest DL defender is over the center and geographically closest to an offensive lineman?

My problem with JMS is that after 2 years he still seems not strong enough to hold his position against NTs.

Mbow seems to have loads of athleticism and great movement with balance.  Why move him where he would not use that as much?  Dante Scarnecchia pointed out that short arms are no issue at all with the correct movement and balance.
