Not every QB gets the advantages of having a QB as intelligent, experienced, and accomplished as Eli Manning available to them.  You have to think this gives Dart a leg up on the competition (especially when you factor in Wilson and Winston).

With Dart, Manning is encouraged by a consistent theme of growth throughout his career, and says all indications from his visits to Giants camp is that the 25th overall pick is going about things the right way at Giants camp.

"I've been to some practices, and I've known Jaxson for the last three years, since he's been at Ole Miss and gotten to watch his career. So I've been just impressed with Jaxson, because I've seen him get better every single year," Manning said. "And that's what you want your players to do, to make improvements -- even though you're playing well, not being content and wanting to make those improvements every day. So I've kind of seen that. It sounds like he's doing that with the Giants. Every day, you're going to learn something, and you're going to make mistakes. That's just part of it, but learning from those mistakes, not repeating those mistakes, and seems like he's just trying to be there, earn the respect of his teammates and his coaches through his hard work."

While Manning's been down some of the same roads Dart is about to travel, he wants to make sure Dart is able to carve out his own unique path, noting he tries not to offer advice unless called upon.

"I've told him, Hey, I'm here to help in any way. I'm a phone call away, a text away, but I'm not getting in the way," Manning said. "You got to figure out, this is your journey, this is your deal. But if there's anything you need, happy to be here."

It was great rooting for Eli, and it had only a bit to do with football. IMO he meant every word he said. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Eli's been through this entire drill and especially so when you consider he, too, is a Rebels' Alumni.

He better than anyone, can develop a "mental checklist" of what a rookie QB should be doing and how to gauge whether Dart is "getting it" at this point.

So far, so good, according to Eli. It's also good that Dart has Eli to bounce things off of at any time. Just as Eli had Kurt Warner, Dart also has Wilson and Winston.

For a change, Dart is blessed with three different QB knowledge bases to pick from, a QB coach, an Offensive Coordinator in Kapka and an offensive-minded Head Coach in Daboll. In other words, he is surrounded by talented resources who have a vested interest in setting him up for success. All he has to do is be a sponge and take it all in, learn it and go out and keep practicing it until his number is called. Then, the new era in Giants Football will have begun!

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

Eli can and hopefully will be a great mentor to Dart.

However, I wouldn't necessarily consider his public commentary to be gospel. He was talking about Daniel Jones being capable of being an elite NFL QB as recently as last September and was publicly bullish on him the entire time he was a Giant. He's an incredibly nice guy and a an optimistic, positive company man for the Giants, but I don't put tons of stock in his comments about players on the team as you're getting a pretty one-sided opinion from him.
