Ed: I noticed that was Lenn, not you, immediately after writing... and then forgot to make the change. Thanks. Bob

So sorry to learn of Tomeee's passing. RIP  :'(

I am stunned and saddened to learn of Tom's passing.
He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his Giants, and although he was generally a laid back dude, he could get pretty fired up on line.
We didn't always agree. But, we could always agree to disagree. I truly miss that sentiment these days.
We tailgated a couple of times back in the old Giants Stadium days. He and his wife were parking lot veterans, who put out a generous before game spread, and a little after game snack, before hitting the road. I loved me some after game snacks.
Back then I was still on Wife 1.0 (before the upgrade). We were all Deadheads. I distinctly remember one of those games took place on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We all huddled together under a big pop-up canopy listening to music from his extensive Grateful Dead collection of concert recordings. Cassettes.
We actually caught up with each other once outside the old Brendan Byrne arena before a Dead show, which was flipping amazing in the days before cell phones were everywhere. Pure, joyous serendipity. And, the sweet fragrance of the green leaf.
Fair thee well, Jack Straw. Settle down easy.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I was at Tom's house for a Tailgate. Got to know him a bit. He was a true Blue Giants FAN.
Also, his Posts always were spot on. Tom will be greatly missed by many here.
Go easy Bro.

Terrible news. Tomeee was such a good guy. I had the pleasure of tailgating with him on numerous occasions. Very friendly, down-to-earth person. Ceri and I actually sat with him for the Giants/Ravens game a few years back where OBJ ripped off an 85 yard catch and run. I believe that Tom had two season tickets; he often came with a friend named Joe. Love you Tomee, see you again my friend.

Brian: I contacted his wife to express the group's condolences.

I also inquired whether his dad is still with us.

A great man (and a Pennsylvanian! LOL) whom Tom brought with him to the Bucs game in Tampa on the trip arranged by Dumpster Dan a bunch of years ago.

As we might have anticipated, Tom's wife comes across as someone to whom Tom (a great guy) would have been married.

Here is her reply to my email...

Hi Bob thank you for reaching out. I do remember Tom and his Dad going to Tampa to see the Giants. Tom was a true fan. Unfortunately his Dad passed a year before he did.

Stay well let's hope the Giants have a fantastic year.

Heard more from a friend who spoke with Renee. She didn't specify exactly what Tom passed away from, only it was very sudden.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Very sad news for all of us.  Tomee was a quality poster and member here.  One of the many bricks that makes this website we all belong to a monument and haven for true Giants fans.
My condolences to his family and especially to those on here who knew him personally.  I can read in your words your hurt and pain at his loss.

Dave was a good friend to many of us here. We went to Giants Camp in Albany together and many Tailgates at Giants Stadium and Met Life. We all go back over 20 years. Dave also served here as an Administrator. He sold his home in the Poconos several years back and moved to Florida with his lovely wife Cynthia. Our condolences to Cyndy, his brother Vinny, his sister Joyce and their family.

Awful news.  Dave is the reason I am on this forum.  I used to be a big participant on the BBWC board and reached out to the members there sometime in 09 as I was going to training camp (back when it was in Albany).  Dave responded and we met - and within short order he convinced me that there was a better Giants board for someone as knowledgeable as me.

Also called me out of the blue once and asked if I wanted to tag along to a pre-season game, his treat.  It was one of those days where everything was going wrong for me and the opportunity to pop out of my head and go see the Giants was a much needed relief.  I'll always be indebted to him for that day.

Oh no! Wow... terrible news. Prayers for comfort, peace, and healing for his family. Rest in peace, Dave.
