Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on December 22, 2024, 02:20:33 PMI haven't watched it yet Lenn, but I'm 99% sure that it's on in its entirety on Paramount+

I googled it and this is what came up

How to Stream the Yellowstone Season 5 Finale
Although the show is distributed by Paramount, it is not available to stream on Paramount+. Past seasons are available to stream for free on Peacock.

Viewers can livestream the Yellowstone season 5 finale on Hulu+ Live TV, Fubo or YouTube

I started watching Landman with Billy Bob Thorton. It is so far from what I expected, but I am enjoying it, mostly because of him. IMHO he IS the entire series. There really isn't any major plot to this series (I just finished episode 6) but it is still an enjoyable watch and just a perfect play for Billy Bob. If I had to cast him in a part, this might be it. It is funny yet has some moments of high drama and when they start talking oil business, could be a commercial for them.

I also started the second season of Lioness. I am 4 episodes in and I still find it confusing. I loved season 1 but maybe I didn't concentrate enough on some of the subtle plot lines but I seem lost as I watch it. Hopefully, I'll get clued in and enjoy it a bit more as we go on.

I'm really enjoying Landman. I agree with you Lenn that it's a Billy Bob Thornton show and he is great.

I just watched "The Six Triple Eight" (Netflix). WWII movie that might be the best movie I've watched in one long time - maybe a couple of years. I cannot suggest it enough

In between occasional movies, I've been watching the series, "The Equalizer" (Netflix) with Queen Latifah, and I'm finding it very enjoyable

I haven't started "Landman", because I want to wait until all episodes are dropped so I don't have to wait a week for the next one to drop - hate that! I know I will like it because I like Billy Bob, and everything written and produced by Taylor Sheridan
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

I'm just watched the first episode of BEFORE, with Billy Crystal and Rosie Perez. It was excellent. On Apple 🍎 TV.

We've finished the new Harlen Coben Missing You on Netflix. It's the standard fare really, there are mixed reviews out there but I would put it in the 'okay' category.

I know it's a film but I enjoyed it and wanted to recommend it - Carry On on Netflix. A terrorist wants to get an illicit item on a plane but targeting a TSA Agent - worth a look, easy watch and under 2 hours.

Yesterday we watched a new movie on MAX, "Juror #2".
We love trial type movie and this one sounded pretty good.

It is more of a jury type movie but has a very interesting premise.

Not giving anything away, the guy on the jury about the killing of a girl on the highway, a sort of hit and run only it was him who hit the girl by accident but he can't come forward on it. He is now on the jury trying the case against the girls boyfriend. He knows this guy is innocent but what should he do on a jury that's wants to convict the guy.
I wouldn't say it was very good but that premise held my interest throughout.

Recently finished the two the British shows, available on Acorn TV, that I mentioned earlier - Manhunt and Inspector George Gently.

Manhunt starred Martin Clunes (star of the show, Doc Martin), and consisted of two seasons, seven episodes in total. Each season was a true, though dramatized, crime case. It was interesting and really kept me engaged, though I did need to have closed captions on to keep up with the dialog. It was also a nice change to see Martin Clunes as someone else besides the grumpy, unpersonable Portwenn doctor.

Inspector George Gently was 26 episodes spread over 8 seasons, and has become one of my all time favorite detective shows. Great interaction between Chief Inspector Gently, an honest, by-the-book, grizzled vet and D.S. John Bacchus, his younger, cringey, hotheaded sidekick as they solve crimes together, while frequently at odds. Highly recommended.

I don't have access to MAX, but that does sound interesting. Will keep an eye out for it on other services.

This sounds right up my alley. I'll give this a look.

The closed caption trick.  I had to use that when I watched the Derry Girls.  I have Acorn and will have to check out Inspector George Gently

If you watch it I hope you like it as much as I do. It originally ran from 2007-2017, but the series was set in the '60s, and contains many political and pop culture references of that time. The series also has a LOT of cigarette smoking for what it's worth.
