OK Tim, I took your advice. I had 4 letters in my first 2 tries, so I said OK let's take a shot. Wrong

I had the last 4 letters in green and it took me till guess 6 to get it right.

Back to MY old routine and I would ahve had it in 4.

Five as well today.

Words with unconventional pronunciations, even when they are fairly common, are sometimes elusive for me.

I had all the letters with my 3 regular words (HA) and just rearranging them was a snap. Probably could have gotten it in 3, but for me, an easy 4.

Ric,

Did you play today's wordle yet?

Looks like you're the only regular who hasn't responded.

Bill,

I'm curious to know what other words you guessed before the correct word. I can think of one but not two.

Yeah, I played. Got it in 4

After two attempts, all I had was the "H" and it was in the wrong place, but with the letters I had left to work with, it was pretty easy to figure out what the last two letters were and since the only vowel left was an "E", I was lucky to get three green in the right place (BTW, my third attempt was "teeth") - hope I'm not spoiling it for anyone. After that, I wracked my brain trying to come up with a word that was a real word using the scant consonants I had left
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

T. First miss was an A. 2nd miss was an R.  3rd was the charm.

Oh OK.

I thought of DEATH but since my first word is always RAISE, I didn't consider either of them. Plus, I never saw DEARTH spelled DERTH unless it's a different word altogether.

Interesting article I found about starting words:

https://kats.coffee/blog/wordle
I saw this before. Actually, I think Len or Ric (or someone else) posted here, if I'm not mistaken.

I actually use RAISE as my starting word. It's funny that the article mentions other words with those same letters and the reasons to NOT use them. I specifically chose RAISE because I figured more words start with a consonant, as the article mentions, but to also get as many vowels as I could. I also do the Wheel of Fortune common consonants (RSTLN).

I have come across a few Wordles that didn't have any of my first word letters. In those cases, my second word is either COUNT or CLOUT, depending on how I'm feeling.
