My last list has one character, Hogarth Hughes, no one has connected yet. I don't imagine the movie is too popular or well known, so here's a hint...
The movie is animated. Hogarth finds a robot and hides him in a junk yard to keep him away from the military.

The Colour Sgt. was played by Nigel Green.  Caine (in his first role) played Lt. Bromhead, the Post Commander until Lt. Chard outranked him

Ethne Burroughs was a female character who was the Fiancee of Lt. Faversham.
