I guess this is a very subjective subject as we all see action and thrills a bit differently. I can't argue with many of the movies here except I would change the order for a lot of them.

I wouldn't put the Matrix on this list. When there was action it was superior to most, but it simply wasn't an action movie.

Also, when they named a particular movie I would assume it included the entire series, like Bourne, each of his movies were excellent, action-wise, so I assume it was a collection assignment.

Also, movies I feel should have been there, and one in particular, way up there--Star Wars
I also loved Speed
And add to that the James Bond series
Enter the Dragon (any of the Bruce Lee movies)
Also, all of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns

Give me time, I'll think of others.

As I said, it is very subjective, but just because we like one particular movie, doesn't make it an all-time favorite.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

It is definitely subjective. I went through the list ready to say, "where's Rambo - First Blood" and "Where's Terminator" and "where's Die Hard"...but lo and behold, they were there

I agree that Matrix is not an action movie...more of a SciFi hard to understand flick - certainly not a top 25 action movie  :-??

I'd swap out some of them for "True Lies", "Jurassic Park", "The Rock", "Red" and "Red 2", "Desperado", "Taken", "Knight and Day", "Men in Black", etc. Heck, I'd include "Peppermint"

But again, it's all subjective
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Notice the common thread - along with most of my picks...Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Liam Neeson, Clint Eastwood, Keanu Reeves, Harrison Ford, and Tommy Lee Jones ("Double Jeopardy" was supposed to be on my "to add list")
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

I struggle with the idea of movies like "The Mummy" and "Fast and Furious" being among the top 25 action movies ever made in the history of film, but it's all subjective I guess.

I bought a book entitled "The Great Adventure Films" by film expert Tony Thomas.  It was published in 1979.  I think "Adventure" can stand even toes with "Action."  Thomas actually lists 50 Films.  Over the years I have managed to acquire all 50 & am proud to have them.  As Thomas did, I'm listing them Chronologically:

Remember that neither the author nor I are saying these are "the Greatest."  Rather I agree with him that they are all GREAT.  Just a note for some of you young guys, give a peek at some of these older (even silent) movies.  I think you'll find they're as good or better than today's technical movies. :greetings:  :greetings:  :greetings:
