I have to laugh at all the Ohatani and this and that. And the "why do you think he is going to Japan all the time watch him because he likes the Sushi' talk.

So let that be a lesson; just because a GM goes to watch a ton of games of a very expensive free agent; doesn't mean it is a lock or even a possibility to sign him.

I guess they have Acuna Jr brother? The dude looks like he is still in little league.

They do, but were you really expecting otherwise? Their rotation is horrid, their bullpen is bad outside of the closer, and there is only really one bat in this lineup that remotely scares anyone. They're not remotely a good team right now.

Don't look now but the Metsies are in serious contention for a playoff berth. Now, if you want to see hot garbage check out the South side of Chicago

I had them for dead when they were for out. I even said as much to my Met fan friends. It's almost like they heard me and decided to go on a tear to prove me wrong. I couldn't be happier to be wrong if they in fact pull this off and get into the playoffs. They definitely have a chance now, and it may come down to that series they have with Atlanta.

What I am dying for more than anything as a Met fan right now is to steal Soto from the Yankees. I frankly think the chances are good. Like him or not, Cohen is a megalomaniac, and Mets fans' interests are aligned with his right now. The Yankees are in a tough position. They can't be in a position where they're paying Soto much more than they're paying Judge, and that is precisely what the situation will be if they were to sign him for the kind of money we're talking about.

I expect him to be a Met, and the number will be over $500mm.

In the meantime, let's make the playoffs and see what we can do!

If the Mets can take 2 from 3 in Atlanta they are all but mathematically in. A tough ask but this team has kept grinding through injuries and slumps. A gritty outfit. Let's Go Mets.

Winning tomorrow night would be so huge. It's not like it's a must-win, but man, would it be big:

(1) It would officially eliminate any chance of the disaster every Met fan is the most afraid of, which is a sweep. We've seen it happen before in this stadium at this time of year (albeit that Mets team was already reeling going into that series).

(2) It would put the Braves under an almost unbearably absurd amount of pressure at 3 games out. Their players could make mistakes under that kind of pressure.

If the Mets go 1-2 in this series, that's clearly not what we're hoping for, but they'll still have a one game lead with just three games to go. That's not the worst outcome. We know what the worst outcome is. If I predicted to you back in early May that they'd have a one game lead in the wildcard with three games left in the regular season, you might have advised me to seek professional help.

This op didnt age well lol. Glad they turned it around and look to be picking up momentum. Was not expecting them to win game four of division series. I was expecting them to win in 5 against phila.

The acuna part of my op particularly didn't age well. He looks to be the goods but, then again I think he had only one playoff ab: and mostly plays 2b late innings for defensive measures.

I couldn't have been more right there with you. I thought this team would stink this year, and for the first six or seven weeks that's exactly what they did.

What has happened since has been downright remarkable. I have never been this surprised by them (either positively or negatively) in my lifetime as a fan, which goes back about 40 years.
