The opening statement sounds about right..."The NFL should hire an auctioneer to take commissioner Roger Goodell's place on stage this year..." LOL

Well..there been others back in the day when teams didn't have a clue..like. the Giants (Rocky Thompson)..In terms of bad.

Now that the draftnudniks resurface every season, there's much less surprise. Or wise still. But we basically know who but not the whom.

Wouldn't it be exciting if the draft was an actual auction?  Teams get bidding points based on prior year's record, and then they auction off the players.  Pre-draft trades would be players for points.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.
