If Waller retires. That frees up much needed funds. Where would you like to see the giants use it? I would like to see us get a serviceable guard or since our secondary is so damn young...getting a serviceable CB probably be the best option. Adoree' Jackson might be the way to go? Perhaps Xavien Howard or Stephon Gilmore ?

At this point I'd bank it for when cuts start happening. Who's out there right now that really improves the team? I hate the idea of bringing in a corner. We have four promising young corners. Let them take their lumps in the hopes that next year and beyond we will have an outstanding secondary.

I'd probably go with Howard. He's not on the decline like Gilmore and he's a ball hawk. He'd be a great mentor to Flott and Hawkins...hell, and even Banks could pick up a few tricks. I'd look at him as a player-coach kind of situation...more coaching than playing. Doubt he'd come cheap though. Probably looking for more than a one-year deal, which is what I'd offer
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

I would let it ride.  Teams can carry surplus over

or use it later in the season if needed for injuries.

Or even if, god forbid, we have an injury or two to a key guy in camp. Our needs at August cut-downs could depend on the health of the team.

Also, as Rich noted, the surplus can be carried over. So they shouldn't spend it just to spend it. I'd definitely go with the wait and see approach myself.

If I had to spend it now I guess I'd go with a corner.

Hadron

I'd hold onto it so the the team doesn't need to restructure contracts midseason.

We need a vet, solid boundary QB across from Banks. Perhaps we can add one after camps break before the season openers

Xavien Howard, he would immediately improve an already improved defense. He could be out shut-down corner and along with Banks, form a great duo.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

I totally agree. I don't think there is any one player now to sign that will make a major difference . We are not  a championship team by any stretch of the imagination. Add the money to next year's amount and give us more to work with .

Xavier Howard is now fighting a sexual cyberharassment, aka, "revenge porn" lawsuit filed yesterday. So cross him off the Giants' want list  >:( 2

Why do professionals who make millions, decide to screw up their lives by doing seriously stupid things. He has the money to do anything he wants for the rest of his life for 10-12 years of work...duhhh

No reason to let it burn a hole in their pocket.  As others have noted it can be rolled into next season, used for injuries or players that have been cut that would offer an upgrade.  After week 1 there is always the vest vet signings that can happen as well.

We were out of money this time last year but when we do have money, like we did before 2022, Schoen did a great job churning the bottom of the roster. Finding guys like McCloud, Pinnock, Hodgins, and Phillips. Let's just let him continue to do that, acquire cheap talent with huge upsides that teams accidentally let go.
