20. NEW YORK GIANTS: TREY SMITH, OG
Original Pick: Kadarius Toney

Trey Smith fell to the sixth round due to a medical issue. But in this re-draft, he goes at pick No. 20 to the New York Giants. Smith is a mammoth offensive guard who has started a combined 60 games (including playoffs) for the Chiefs during the last three years. Smith would really help the Giants' weak interior offensive line.

I guess the bigger question is if the Giants should have made the trade.

The Bears acquired the No. 10 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft from the Giants, which they used to take quarterback Justin Fields.

The Giants took the Bears' No. 20 overall pick, which was used on wide receiver Kadarius Toney. Big Blue also acquired the No. 164 overall pick, but they traded said pick to the Denver Broncos to move up in the third-round to get Aaron Robinson at No. 71.

Meanwhile, the Giants also acquired two picks in the 2022 NFL draft from Chicago — their first- and fourth-round selections.

To put the trade into players:

Chicago Bears get: QB Justin Fields
New York Giants get: WR Kadarius Toney, CB Aaron Robinson*, OT Evan Neal, TE Daniel Bellinger

Smith was never a first round prospect but I distinctly remember myself and others here screaming for the Giants to draft Smith in the 5th round as his play/upside more than compensated for his health risk at say a 5th round pick.  That pick hurts frankly.

The worst part about it, was Judge's staff had a coach in Smith's college team (TN I think).  So, in theory, the Giants had an inside track on him.

Christian Datrisaw would have been solid at 20.  Of course Parsons would have been fine if they stayed put.

Tennessee's former HC was a defensive assistant at the time.

Shocking.  Can't overthink things.
