ITB hosts Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher are joined by Greg Cosell for Part 2 of their annual "NFC East Preview Series" with focus on the New York Giants, who haven't won an NFC East title since 2011.

I think Greg's evaluation was solid, and I strongly suggest taking the time to listen.  Greg Cosell is the one non-NFL whose comments I consider have significant weight behind them.

It was interesting that Greg was not that high on JMS when he came out of college (although Greg admits he was high on Neal).

My answer to the subject question is NO!

There is no one more credible and better at what he does than Greg Cosell. When I say better, I mean better in terms of no b.s. than any three other guys combined.

Having listened to this Eagles broadcast, I feel better informed and somewhat more hopeful about the 2024 season.

Cheers!

Great run down and really lowered my expectations

Probably needed to be lowered

"He's not a pocket mover". Ive been saying this for years.  He is a stationary target who cannot throw on the run.

We are screwed until Daniel is replaced and it seems Drew is not the answer either.
Give DeVito another shot guys

Maybe it's me, but I don't see "Elite pass rush alone" as an accurate description of this team. They've made sound structural decisions.

Basically the players Schoen picked and Daboll's staff is developing need to be good, and developed. If they aren't, the worst case scenario is "Elite pass rush alone". If they do, they've been sound decisions from a resource-allocation standpoint. (Lots of premium resources in premium positions.)

People crying about Saquon Barkley are missing the point that RBs simply don't matter that much. He was good here at times, and was overly relied upon and kind of a comically error prone player. It's WRs that carry offenses now. (The QB's "other half".) Daboll's offense is predicated on having good WRs. The RB is immaterial. He'll go RBBC and be fine if his passing game is where he wants it.

Daboll needs to show he's an impact NFL coach. He had a good offense coaching Brady in Belichick's program, coaching Hurts & Tua in Saban's program and coaching Josh Allen in BUF. Here, he doesn't have an All World QB or program to lean on. Will he coach a good offense? We'll see.

you summed it up nicely

What's the definition of insanity?!

Repeating the same behavior and expecting a different result.

The Quarterback is THE MOST important position on the football field.

For the 6th year in a row (3rd under the new regime) we are starting the season with arguably the weakest Quarterback room in the league.

No pass rush nor elite running back (the way the league is run today) will ever make up for that.

I'm afraid we're in for another repeat of the SOS. Either we completely stink, or it's another smoke and mirror type season. Either way, the madness continues with this franchise in its current state.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Agreed.  I think we have a decent QB in DeVito but we will see cheerleaders before we see Tommy again I'm afraid.

Why is he decent, he's poised and moves well in the pocket, makes the right decisions and has all the throws with velocity.....the only trait of all these that Danny and Drew have is velocity.

Yes it may be a long year unless the Oline grows teeth and the receivers pop wide open

We should be an improved running game this year however....Barkley was feast or famine
Singletary and company should move the chains on 1st and 2nd down more reliably

We shall see....September is coming on fast

I don't think we agree.

You conveniently wrapped your desire to give Touchdown Tommy another chance into a veiled "he's the only decent QB on the roster" assertion.

The reality is, he's easily a third of the reason we have arguably the weakest QB room in the league. His presence on the roster makes it so.

We need to stop falling in love with flash players and start holding this organization accountable for trying to shove mediocrity down our throats.
