Quote from: FL GMAN on July 23, 2024, 05:22:05 PMTruly disappointing about Neal. When he was drafted I thought no way this guy will be stiff like Flowers. He was from Alabama under Saban and dominated top notch competition. I am so disappointed , I really thought he was going to be the dominant guy for the next 10 years. What makes it worse is that he didn't rehab at the facility like Jones did. I'm starting to doubt he will be in the starting lineup 1st game.

Bitter pills are hard to swallow and now the Giants need to do this with Neal.  Move him way back on depth chart and tell him to heal up but now everything you do once healthy will be from back there.  The Giants need a new plan not him in a recycled plan.

I agree with you guys about Neal but not with the details of your analyses.

This injury situation has nothing to do with my overall disappointment (it's all about his poor play).

I'm ready to call him a bust but won't until he has had this one last chance to show us 1st-round football.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Bob,

I admire your last chance take on Neal. That is very generous. Me? Not so much.  Course correction to the bench is where he belongs, if that

I'm all for Eluemunor at RT, but then we have to find another starting guard along with Runyan.  I've been saying try Neal there [G] but with the injury, it's next man up.   As Annette once sang:  " Who will it be?"

Biggest takeaway from Schoen and Daboll's pre-camp presser: Jermaine Eluemunor will be at RT with Evan Neal starting camp on PUP. Even with Schoen saying Neal isn't "far off" from practicing, they're making this drastic change to their O-line plan. I can't see any way Neal gets the starting job back. Harsh for Neal, but best thing for the Giants' line IMO.

Also, Daboll said Daniel Jones will be a full participant from the start of camp and will take all of the first-team reps.

IMHO, Neal never regains his starting RT again.  That experiment is over.

Duggan seems to be forgetting that people on this team get hurt all the time. I'm surprised he can't see "any way" Neal gets the starting job back. Sounds like Neal's primary competition just limped off the field on the first day of camp.

With that said if Neal plays this year the way he has played his first two years, there are likely guys off the street who can do better than that.
