Mike Lombardi's biggest question facing the Giants

The Giants in 2022 were 18th in the NFL in points per play. Last year, without Daniel Jones, they ranked 30th in points per play. Now, without Saquon Barkley, what will this offense look like? Barkley's last two seasons: 16 TDs, 113 first downs rushing, and 4.25 yards per carry on 18 carries per game. Who replaces those numbers? Barkley gained 482 yards after contact last year and 480 before. Devin Singletary had 348 yards after contact and 550 before.

They are going to pass more. Pretty simple. The WRs are now the strength of the team.  Do they have the QB to properly throw to them?  Probably not, but they're gonna find out one way or another this season.  The biggest question to me isn't that at all.  It's what do they do if Jones is the same Jones we've seen for the past 5 years?

lost in all this discussion has been RB.  Will we pass more.....probably.  But that's relative to last year.  Motor Singletary is pretty good.  SB was oft-injured.  With a more-or-less RB by committee with Singletary as the principal RB, IMO IF THE OL DOES ITS JOB - our run game can be decent to good albeit probably less spectacular.  In short, we seem to have ignored the fact that we did get a good FA RB, and DJ won't be the only Giant in the backfield.

With Slayton and especially Hyatt stretching the field, Jones will have the ability to throw short passes to Nabors or Wan'dale who have the ability to make a defender miss and produce some nice yards after catch.  Our OL should be good enough to block for quick release passes. With Daboll calling plays, I think the offense will be alot better than people think
