So one good season in 2020. When did Jones first have neck injuries?

Payton's arm was never the same after a series of neck problems.  I am not sure that is the issue with DJ, though.   That said, I did hear reports that some thought his throwing was impacted after last season's neck injury.

The Organization should have known that, right? At this point, just speculating. It could very well be rustyness. Or a combination that and the two injuries.

I think the interesting thing I learned from my study is that DJ is an average to below average long thrower.  Daboll seems to be in a bind.  Go for the long ball to improve the offense's anemic explosiveness, or play to DJ's strengths.

We've seen how it looks when they DON'T throw the ball downfield ever.  And it's not pretty.  Let's at least try and air it out from time to time, particularly with a guy that has blazing speed on one side and Nabers on the other who seems to be catching everything in his zip code whether he's covered or not.  If we keep getting 10 dumpoffs to Singletary every game while Nabers running free in the secondary he is going to lose his mind and he'll be 100% justified.

Although it matters little how he has performed with his 20+ yard passes in the past, I do recall, from having viewed his Duke play tapes, just often he threw the ball deep to open receivers who seemed to drop the ball far more than they caught it. It was a comment often heard before the Draft

That ought not be the case now with a legit deep threat like Nabers leading a group with Robinson, Hyatt, Slayton, and Hodgins at WR. And so, how deep, how often, how successful may depend on the Oline being a lot better than its recent lousy at pass blocking. So, as Linda Ronstadt might ask: What's New?

Cheers!

They have a good WR room, Nabers should help in this area some, as well as his RAC ability too.

He will need to have a season far greater than anything he ever has done to this point, if he wants to stay next year.

Not sure he is up to the task, but hopefully we at least see improved QB play. He has weapons and plenty to work with, got some more resources put into the OL. Now or never
