John Mara spoke for the first time since March after the mural unveiling at Hackensack University Medical Center. He hit on a bunch of topics, including:

• Mara wouldn't give specific expectations for the season but said "obviously I want to show significant improvement."

• Mara on Daniel Jones: "I'm still happy we gave him that contract." Wants to see Jones with a better O-line and weapons.

• Mara said he was "very surprised" Bill Belichick didn't get a HC job this offseason. Mara believes the 72-year-old can still coach at a high level.
