Those OL grades are simply unbelievable (I saw the whole game - twice - and I still can't believe it).

Yeah, I know... it was against scrubs... but wait... aren't the Giants who earned those grades also scrubs?

Is it possible our scrubs were actually better than theirs?  This could be a sea-change moment, IMO.

Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Yes Bob, IMHO our 2's and 3s were better than their 2's and 3's

Thats encouraging

It was nice to see Ezeudu, Mayfield, Mausau, and Beavers play so well. They need to give my man Tre some playing time with the ones. In what Universe have the Giants had 7, count 'em SEVEN Olinemen with a 70+ Grade? Apparently, this Universe. Gotta give Shane & Schoen a lot of credit.

:what:  Our O Lineman on offense and Line Backers on defense lead most of the overall scores.  Wow.

Ed: There are only 2 possibilities regarding the OL: someone bribed PFF or the OL coach is a Svengali. lol

But seriously... I'll bet the ranch they put in a super-limited package consisting of base plays only... to give the group a fair chance to enjoy a night of success.

That group of linemen (those who were here last year) were much-maligned by fans & media, and IMO they're well aware of it. Gotta say it was a nice idea by the coaches, which could help in the long run, especially if any of them have to be put into a game that counts (which IMO is highly likely).

I think those grades are pretty much what I saw. I think Borders is getting unnecessarily punished for a punt return penalty where he blocked one of the Lions all the way to the bench (which is allowed) and wouldn't let him back onto the field (which is not allowed but I loved it!) Other than that lack of understanding of the rule, which is correctable, he played pretty well, especially on special teams.

The rest of the grades are pretty solid. As I look down the list it looks like everyone who got a penalty is about 15-20 points lower than where their overall play for the night was. Hawkins now knows what toothpaste every Lions receiver uses. Jeez he was tight on people all night. He'll have some double moves coming his way in future games.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant - Robert McCloskey (if he were on this Forum)

I'm trying to figure out how Nabers had such a bad grade. Looked like he beat his man several times. Not his fault Lock didn't fire the ball to him.

Great to see the high Oline grades. Hoping this will be the norm.
Ain't nothing to it but to do it!

Watch the game again and concentrate on the Run Blocking.

His play seems to be a bit polarizing.  I have heard positive and negative assessments

Let's hope the new OL coach keeps the group motivated and that they stay healthy.

Rich: I watched the game a 3rd time last night and decided it's likely or probable Ezudu is better than an average NFL backup defender but not good enough to consistently avoid being manhandled by average starters.

Considering that our current goal right now (out of sheer desperation) is simply to field an average OL, he will (and should) make the final roster as a backup.  When it becomes possible to set our next goal at fielding a superior OL, it's likely they'll jettison him unless he has taken a step above his current level of play.

The good news (I suppose) is that practicing against our defensive line seems to have helped him improve, so it's likely to continue to do so.  Bottom line: all is not lost with him.

I haven't seen backup O-line play that well in years

The Giants need a swing tackle.  Could Ezudu handle that role?
