If I had told you prior to the season starting that these two things would be true after two games:

1.  Our OL would be the 8th best rated pass blocking line in the league
2.  Malik Nabers would have the 2nd most targets in the league (25 through 2 games)

What do you think you would have predicted our record being after two weeks against the Vikings and the Redskins?  How many points do you think you would have predicted us scoring?

Probably 1-1. While those two points are positive points, neither addresses the caliber of QB play we have. Our QB was very bad last year, then he suffered a major injury mid-season, and then had a mixed (at best) camp and preseason. I just don't see how the outlook on him could have been bullish. And when you're weak at the QB position it's hard to be above .500 in this league.

at least 1-1. which it should be. with a kicker we win the redskins game easily.

Throw in a backup QB playing for Minnesota and I'd say 2-0.

It's the same as it ever was. The NFL is less about playing well and more about making plays. The Giants didn't play poorly, but when you look at the plays that make the difference in football games, Washington made them and the Giants didn't.

I thought the Giants had a chance to be 2-0 and then the schedule gets tough for about 5 games. I was hoping the confidence gained early might carry them to another win or two over that stretch. Now, 0-7 is a real possibility, although Dallas is clearly more vulnerable than we thought they would be. The Cowboys can't run and they can't stop the run. 1-3 with a win of over the Cowboys would be a silver lining.

To answer my own question I definitely would have thought 2-0 against Sam Darnold and rookie Jayden D- if the line was protecting DJ and he was peppering this otherworldy talent at WR with targets.  Yet here we are sitting winless and it only gets tougher from here.

With all the respect in the world for you, the Giants have absolutely no business discussing silver lining, or any lining when the Cowpokes stormed into town last year, held them up at gunpoint and robbed them of everything, including their boots and dignity.

Regardless of what happens tomorrow, if they don't go into Thursday night with a chip on their shoulder looking for a back-alley brawl, the Cowpokes might lay 50 on them and brand them a bunch of cowards in their own building.

Let the cameras cut to John Mara then and let's see how much he's enjoying the life as the third richest football club in the NFL. Because, from that point, on, the opposing team's fans will be filling his coffers at the games the rest of the way.

0-7? It could get far worse than that depending how the Cowboys game goes.

That's why tomorrow's game is a must win to salvage their season and give them any hope for competing with full intensity the rest of the way.

Peace!

Point taken. This isn't last year's Cowboys nor is it last year's Giants Offensive Line. This game MUST have been circled on the calendar in the Giant locker room from day 1. There should be several guys on this team looking to reclaim some "dignity" as you put it.

Not to jump ahead, but if Baltimore beat Dallas tomorrow and win their first game, it will be tough to imagine the Giants winning and Dallas losing three in a row. Best bet hope Dallas wins tomorrow.

The Dallas team I saw last week is not finishing above 0.500. As surprised as I am to be typing that, I know what I saw. They have issues they can't fix.

Why do people start threads with such a vague topic like "I wonder"? How hard is it to describe what it is you want to discuss in the the topic name?  :boooo:

=))  =))  =))   Sorry, sorry.  My bad.  I rarely post topics.  In fact, go ahead and look at my profile and see when I joined (17 yrs ago...dang are we that old?)  and then how many topics I've posted (supposedly just this one- although I don't think that's right I feel like I average maybe 1 every 2 years or so).

But why is it, when the Cowboys always have things to fix, they manage to fix them for good when they play the Giants?

That is the question for Confucious to answer.

Peace!
