Rough second half Offensively

This is me trying to look at the bright side... but I'm hoping this is a team that is coming together

Every game while not pretty has been a step in the right direction.... Now if Jones and the offense can put a whole game together we can win some games

Same goes for defense.... great first half .. Bowen brought the pressure ... not Wink pressure but that's fine its good to mix it up... 3rd quarter I was ticked off because he went back to playing a soft zone defense and we gave up the TD... but unlike my biggest fear (Patrick Graham) the man actually adjusted back to dialing up the occasional pressure ... something that is extremely refreshing to me

Short week... another move in right direction would be beating the Cowboys

Regardless of the second half performance, the D only gave up 8 pts in the final 30 minutes.

I really don't think we can ask for more than that.

I agree... and that is Kudos to Bowen for not being scared and reverting back to what was working

Credit goes to Bowen for changing up the pressure on a leaky Browns OL and Watson. The D got some huge breaks, and Banks was porous, but they got the job done

Offense line continued to be effective, allowing pass lanes to open, plus they looked sharp in the first half as a whole  Good signs despite the plodding second half

Give the devil his due. He adjusted his defensive strategy and found out how to apply pressure. I agree that taking  your foot off the throttle, got the Browns back in the game.

To me this is a statement by the team in support of Daboll and in their pride.

Jones played a good game for DJ. However he missed seeing open Receivers further downfield, over threw what could have been two deep touchdowns, and needed to throw a pass away and got himself in trouble. That could have been a disaster.

Stupid penalties amd mistakes need to be cleaned up, especially fumbling the ball for the second week in a row and in a kickoff return. How many of you thought, "Here we go again!" A less resilient team would have crawled into a ball and given up.

They should be 2-1. As I said last week, the Vikings are or were a very underrated team. That game is on Daboll for not preparing the first team opening day once again again.

If they can stay relatively healthy and improve each week, this is something to build on.

Excellent summary Ed.

I would add from my perspective:
- Jones definitely showed he changes when he gets hit (he took a helluva shot in 3rd quarter)
- Chatman is a player and a half
- was really cool seeing Dex line up on outside; Bowen deserves a game ball. He was on the block with the fans and he really showed big. Many here said give him 3-4 games and then make an assessment.
- Jones should use our TE like Dak does. They are both capable of making plays
- Pinnock is coming hard
- Banks needs help still (or maybe he is still learning the system)
- Scottish hammer had a great game
- Nervous with the K and Gray
- Daboll called nice game for most part - wish he went to Hyatt
- Win today helps locker room
- McFadden is having himself a nice early season
- Tackling was not as good in 2nd half
- Singletary is a very good player and is better than Barkley (in short yardage). Last week fumble wasn't on him but this week was his fault in my mind
- Why did we abandon the screen pass in 2nd half??
Jones needs to develop the touch pass and deep pass I have no idea because that was a strong point as a rookie. His running was very strong today and he didn't take unnecessary hits. He checked boxes today. Scored TD before halftime and responded after our 3 and out following the fumble. Showed me a lot. More than anything I am
Happy for him. A game like today on the road after what he has gone through rehabbing must feel wonderful. I still wanna see him play with that big passion. He's got me intrigued and rooting. I wanna eat crow DJ!
- I'm still curious what Kafka does
- Coverage on specials was improved
- Thibs has to be stronger
- Burns woke up today
- Ojulari had his best game as a pro
- Nabers and Dex are pro bowl players

It feels happy to be excited for the Giants. Good job by Daboll who I was and still may be ready to jettison. Finally a fun Sunday. Go beat Dallas boys!

This looks like a 6 win team right now. Which makes the offseason look even trickier.

Defense was good. Feel better about it after this week. Will say that Cleveland's OL was decimated so I'm not over the moon or anything. Good that Burns showed up and the stops on fourth down showed resilience.

Offense... Didn't show up the second half. First half was more shaky than the stats would tell you, despite positive results. DJ's accuracy is middling. Theo Johnson should have had a TD, then the follow up TD to Leek was a bad ball that required a great catch. Deep balls seem uncatchable the majority of the time. Intermediate accuracy is about the same, though the second TD to Leek was as good as you can ask for. But basically everything past 10 yards is a crap shoot. Stat line looks mistake free, but this was a far sloppier game than last week. Honestly what I come away with is how it was so clear in the 2nd half DJ couldn't get it together. Giants gave him the ball to put the game out of reach multiple times and he looked lost. It simplified things for the defense and the Giants were forced to be predictable with play calling.

All that being said, Cleveland is a very good defense so it's not surprising that they would give the Giants trouble.

I'm glad they got the win, but that was ugly.

What you said  "Here we go again"   In hindsight I think that was the ballgame--the Giants didnt pack it in--The offense came out and showed a little life but the next time on the field (first time)  the D set the tone--t was nice to see for a change

It reminded me of 2007 and the third game of the season when one stand changed the course of the season and an era. Will that be the case here? Who knows, but it seemed quite poignant to me in the moment. At the very least, it was the defining point in the game. It rattled a veteran QB who many here were calling elite several years ago and it certainly caught Stefanski and his Offensive Coaching Staff off guard.

3 games in and each game they've looked a little better each game:

week 1 both O and D flat out stunk

week 2 Offense much better defense still stinks

week 3 offense even better and defense night and day difference

They play like they did first half they have a chance to beat the Cowboys

londonblue

Thursday will be interesting. If it is first half Giants v first half Cowboys we will smile. If it is second half v second half we will hide behind our couches. Singletary has to stop fumbling. DJ needs to improve ball placement. D needs to attack not sit back and get eviscerated.
