I am hoping the Giants can turn the tables on recent history and topple Dallas in prime time on Thursday.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't think it has been just one game.

Last week he posted a 100 QB RTG and a 61.0 QBR, so it has been two weeks in a row.

Let's also not forget the entire 2022 season, fourteen more games to go, let's see how it transpires.

The Entire 2022 season was not good, go back and look at some of those brutal stat lines. Being good in a handful of games doesn't translate to the entire season. Furthermore all the years at Duke and 4 other seasons has taught us he's not who YOU want him to be.

Imagine doing a dance for 236 yards and 2 tds in the year 2024, its sraping the bottom of the barrel.

Quote from: todge on September 22, 2024, 08:33:49 PMLet's remember - the NFL average for passes over 20 yards was 57% while DJs was 65%. Regardless, Jones ran the offense well against a very good defensive team.

The Giants, like most teams, sat on their lead. They also had poor starting field position on three occasions in the second half. There were also two key 3rd down drops by Slayton and Robinson as well as a missed "hot read " that led to an incompletion.

Good stuff Todge thank u.

My issues are the ability to put the game away and not miss the deep throw so frequently -  "knockout punch" if you will.

But ultimately if we are talking "ability to put the game away" there is a fair point to be made to congratulate him to getting to this point today against a very good defense. Again it's a good day.

My first thought as I watched Singletary get the last first down was, "they got the W, but Jones still sucks.  Just lucky Watson was worse."  Can't even come close on a deep ball, holding the ball too long when they go empty backfield.  Was he adequate?  Yes.  But, that is not good enough.  Plus, he was very lucky the pick got called back.

This rant is not about DJ - more a dagger at today's players and coaches in general.

I watched Jones press conference and one thing I hate with "todays" players is when they constantly say "I thought we had a good plan"....that line stinks. Same as "we will look at the film" or "we have some things to clean up"

I can't stand these cliches.

It's almost sad how some simply can't just enjoy a win.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Who says we are not enjoying the win? Doesn't mean we dont recognize problems.  After I ate dinner, I texted a few friends, "A ribeye just tastes better after a Giants win."

I look at it differently. I think as competitors we as fans sometimes take the same approach as the players and coaches (this is one is over, how can we improve). It's what sets NY fans apart in my mind. Never satisfied keep pushing.

This is the only year we can judge D Jones
He has nabers now
But I still don't think he is good enough to do anything but win one playoff game
But let's see

I hope jones watches Kirk Cousins the way he leads his receivers and moves his head to look of the secondary

Jones was all right. He threw some clunkers, but other errant throws were drops that should have been caught. His first half was much better than his second, but overall he did enough to win.

Jones did not beat us (with a little help from the refs). Nor did he last week. That is a start. Can he get to the point where he is the reason we win with some form of regularity? I still don't see it if I am honest but if he can be efficient and reasonably error free we should be in most games. A lot rests on Bowen learning the D is best when attacking.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on September 22, 2024, 07:34:53 PM1 game sadly doesn't change 9 years of previous gameplay. Good for him, Malik helps everyone but I don't know that anyone that thought we should get a qb next year changes that thought bc of one average game.

Jess,

Are you suggesting Daniel Jones has only had one good game in his last 9 seasons?
