Rich: It's why most coaches cannot overemphasize the value of CONFIDENCE in the play of an NFL QB. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

I don't agree with the PFF Grade although I understand how they arrived at it. They Grade -2, -1, 0, +1, +2. That becomes subjective but it's validated by a Supervisor in most cases. The passes where he overthrew Deep, could have been -2 Grades and that would include wide open Receivers. On plays where he checked down with time to throw downfield, they could be a -1. On throws where it's an expected completion, they are graded a zero. The difficulty of the opponent between the Washington game to Cleveland for Jones was substantial. The Oline had it's hands full. The intricacy of how he read the field and hit some nice timing throws and how he commanded the pocket and how well he protected the ball were night and day better than I've seen him play.

Here is something else to chew on that you won't likely see mentioned. I had a discussion last week with @Trench about the lack of TE Routes. He brought up Seam Routes up the middle as I recall. I said that as the O-Line gets more comfortable, hopefully, the TE's can release instead of staying in to Block. First of all against Cleveland, there were 15 more Offensive Snaps to evaluate, and as a result 15 more pressures and 15 more opportunities to move the ball or score. 71 Snaps vs 56 the week prior. Against Washington the TE's stayed in to Block on 70% of the Snaps. Against Cleveland with a better pass Rush, they stayed in to block only 48% of the Snaps. This resulted in more pressure hits and Hurries. That's an intangible that I'm happy to live with because Daniel Jones stood up to the task.

Look, I've been pretty critical about Jones when he deserved the criticism and I know he's not likely the long-term solution for this team, but he played much better than most fans are giving him credit for yesterday.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Absolutely. It makes a world of difference. I saw him look off the defender 2x test and also locked on a bunch. But it's definitely a start.
