If we are 10 games into the season and the O-line continues this play or even improves Schoen needs to strongly consider extensions asap

I know we have a draft coming up ..... but we'd could also having another Neal type situation

Just some random thoughts .... Keep the unit together !

Strategic Imperative #1: Fix the damned Offensive Line, once and for all!

We have one vote for yes. Any others?

I'm thinking let's see how they do against Dallas and then we'll have enough data to truly evaluate this.

But, so far it has been promising.

Peace!

Great start but we still have 14 more games. I'll grade them weekly and a final grade at the end of the season. So far, I give them a B+.

Better than it's been, which isn't saying much, but far too early to fairly evaluate.

Evan Neal has been so bad, that even below average offensive line play is viewed as a positive.  Van Roten is in the bottom 1/3 of the league in pressures allowed and has a well below average 50 PFF rating. He'll also be 35 this year...I'd prefer an upgrade here. Eluemunor is not much better with a 54.3 PFF score; although, he's been better at run blocking.  The Giants oline is functioning better as byproduct of JMS' improvement, coupled with an upgrade at LG; still, we need to upgrade the right side next year.  With the right FA/draft pick, the line could be viewed as a strength....imagine that...

I said this in a thread last week...I think this team is 1-to-2 key players away from truly competing.

Lets not let the jump from disastrous to competent leap to overpay!

Van Wroten to my somewhat trained eye is the weakest link by quite a bit on the line.

My hope is put Neal in the Brillo PAd LAb and take his place on the line at RG in a few weeks.

Interesting.  Pff has him as our highest rated OL.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Not slowing my roll

To me it seems like Eluemunor is the one who has occasionally been beat

Even then he hasn't been that bad

I may be missing it but I feel like Van Roten is never mentioned...which is a good thing

They arent exactly lighting it up...but better than we've had in recent years. i'd still look to upgrade if possible. They are passing the eye test for now, but they are not grading out well. I will say its nice to see jones have more than a fart's worth of time in the pocket, and the running game actually looking competent. but we still need to get better. much better. we still are not ready to dominate teams in our division.

What you say is true.

They are very much a work in progress which may top out at "Average - Middle of the Pack" in terms of ratings. That said, if they keep Danny Dimes off his bum, and give him just enough time to throw, and make enough holes for the running game to be as good, or slightly better than what they've shown to date, they will deserve a GREEN rating on their Balanced Scorecard sheet for SI #1.

We're not asking for miracles here. A competent line that will allow the offense to compete, score a couple of TDs a game and keep the defense off the field would be a marked improvement over season 2023.

They're still coming together but so far, so good. (Knock on wood) They have been fairly healthy as well but tomorow's game is on the Sardine Can Turf Monster so all say a prayer for every Giant player they make it through unscathed.

Peace!

I`d rather see Evan Neal get the Howard Stern/ Bricillo "bum make-over" and flourish at right tackle and then slide Eluemunor inside. I may be asking too much though.
