Complaining about playcalling when you've got a one read QB who can't make a competitive throw 20+ yards downfield (unless wide open) seems backwards to me.

He's was the best player on the field for either team tonight. Find another scapegoat.

I agree he was the best player on the field, but that doesn't change the fact that Nabors has 2 dropped passes on 4th down that could have changed the outcomes of the game. Kid is elite but I assure you those drops will haunt him because even he knows what they meant.

Daboll is truly an offensive, genius.

He is when Josh Allen is his QB.

Outside of that I think he is Joe Shoen's brother in law.

DJs arm has diminished over time. No Zip and he lost his deep pass. So if he's not perfectly set up the ball wanders. He's Underthrown at least a half doesn't passes this year probably more Where receivers were open or could've made a catch. you don't see Jalin Hyatt because he could never hit him in stride. statistically he had a great game, but this was a winnable game and it's not just on him. There were several drop passes too, and his protection broke down and they couldn't run the ball because they got manhandled at the line. Although Barkley Surely would've helped.

I'm no guru...just a passionate fan and boy does tonight hurt!...I feel like something was different and I went back and looked but before that:

...we had a chance here for first time in along time. I rooted like hell for Jones. I did. The poor guy just can't do it. And that's ok. He's a good kid and works hard. We have to move on after this year or next (if nobody is available this year)...

What I noticed with jones on the deep balm is he seems to really be "stepping" his lead foot to the left and throwing from an open position and not closed position in a strong way. Maybe it's nothing but he seems to be stepping in the bucket so to speak

This team has improved from last year but they are not "good".

The offense kicks FGs because they make mistakes that kill drives.  The penalties, the drops and the misses on the deep throws.

Nabers would have scored if the ball in the 1st half led him. 

That's just one of too many plays left on the field.

One of the big problems when you can only dink and dunk and need 10+ plays to score is that you're demanding continual perfection (not to mention the limitations of such an approach make virtually every catch competitive). You're bound to encounter more drops, more errors, more missteps. And that's not even controlling for the actual personnel. Chunk plays correlate extremely highly with scoring for a reason and it's why teams desperately scheme to make them happen. But the Giants can't even threaten them right now, much less execute them, which is a sad state of affairs.

This reminds me of when coach Garrett was here. Then it was the play calling also. Ever since Coach Garrett was here we have seen this sort of conservative offense. Gee I wonder why. Daniel Jones is a back up QB incapable of throwing in tight windows in the red zone ; is not very accurate in general; did not even turn his head the whole game to look at the other side of the field.

We saw  what happens in game 1 when you just let him air it out --especially in the end zone--in game one. How about an interception right to a defensive back standing 6 feet away, on a seam route ; ON A SEAM ROUTE!!!!

Nabers and Wan Robinson looked good and get seperation; oline gave good pass protection. Just imagine this offense if they had a Derrick Carr or Kirk Cousins -- both raadily available at free agency at one point in the off-season and, not much cheaper if not cheaper in Carr's case than Jones.

My thoughts on last night....as contradictory as it sounds, it was a game that looked there for the taking and a game we never looked like winning.

There's plenty blame to go round, it's all been narrated elsewhere.

I just hate Dallas.

Herbstreit pointed out at least a dozen times last night how Jones went to his 2nd and third reads on a play.

Are you talking about the Dereck Carr that stunk it up against Giants a couple of years ago ? Or the Kirk Cousins that threw behind first down stick on 4th down that sealed Giant playoff win in Minesota ?
We only see the good and bad of the Giant QB every week because he is on our team....  Yes they are better QBs than Jones.
But the simple answer you suggest is not realistic...I think some are going to find fault with their home team QB no matter who it is....or which team they are rooting for.
Nabors has dropped two late game first down catches on potential winning drives in two of the four games this year.
The Jones throw to him was very much on target in a crucial time of the game. He dropped it. If Carr throws the same ball does he catch it ?

The margin to winning football games is so thin for this team. I just want to see a WR break a tackle and make a play. I want to see Jones complete a throw to an open receiver behind the defense. I want to see the critical passes in games be caught and I want to see the Defense stop the run WHEN IT MATTERS. I want to see the safeties take the right angle so a 17 yard pass doesn't turn into a 55 yard TD. The fumbles and near fumbles on special teams and running plays need to stop. 

For those who want to blame Daboll he is doing what many were asking for. He is taking what Daniel Jones is good at and designing the offense around that. It isn't going to be good enough if they keep making the mental and physical mistakes and most importantly, everyone needs to keep getting better.

Okay, Jones has made few throws over 20 yards with any accuracy this season. Even many of the 10-15 yard throws are behind receivers or low. It is maddening. I am not going to accept that will be the case for the rest of the year. He needs to put in the extra time and get some timing down with the WRs. This team needs some of those plays. HIS CAREER needs some of those plays. They nicknamed him Danny Dimes because he was able to make those throws in the past. Put in the work. The margins are thin enough in this league where you lose games if you can't make those plays. Joe Burrow is having the same problem in 2024 and the Bengals have a similar record as a result. Figure it out. No excuses. Figure it out.

Oh, and if Hyatt wants to know why he is on the bench so much, just watch the last play. Do you believe for a second Nabors is going to wait for that ball come down and land in his lap? The ball was thrown to you dumbass. GO GET IT! Hyatt did this in preseason too. If I'm Daniel Jones I don't trust Hyatt at all. Give me someone who attacks the ball in the air, especially on a play like that. It was a Hail Mary but I thought it could easily have been caught with a little effort. The missed FG opened the door and that was a chance to step through the opening. Hyatt didn't even make the effort.

I don't know who the better (or worse) team was last night, but Dallas was tougher and more aggressive throughout. They deserve the win.

Heard on the radio that this season he is 2-14 with on such throws.  I get they will be lower percentage, but its got to be better than 2-14 especially when Nabers is behind the defense.
